ants in my strawberries

Well we have had lots of rain the ants are taking over my strawberry patch
any ideas on how to deal with this

You should look for aphids as they may be the reason the ants are marching through your strawberries. If that's the case, getting rid of the aphids would probably get rid of the ants too. Otherwise you might try rubbing clove oil on the outside of the planters, or some double side tape to stop them from climbing into the planters. You could go nuclear and spread some diatomaceous earth around to kill them, or buy an anteater. I'd look for aphids first though...

Hitting self in the forehead .. I have 100 lbs of DE ... I use it for everything else .. Thanks, will do the DE thing today .. I believe the ants are there because we have had 10 days of rain .... But if there are aphids the DE will take care of them too.

If you have some dry molasses, that might help, too. Sprinkle the DE around the base of your planters where they come in contact with the ground, too.
