Transporting a Peace Lilly cross country in a car

Braymer, MO

We have a peace lilly that is very dear to us and need to move it to washington from missouri in a car. I was wondering if we could cut the leaves back so it could sit in the car easier. It is a good sized plant.

Good question! I am wondering the same. I am in MO and will be moving to ID. How can I transport my plants safely?

Fort Knox, KY

I moved from New Jersey to Kentucky with 5 houseplants on the floor of the backseat, and from Florida to NJ with the same situation..

I learned from the florida trip NOT to drive with the windows open, because when I arrived in NJ my plants had been windblasted and most of those leaves turned dry and died. I just didnt make any harsh turns, kept the windows shut, and wedged them in there, with a shallow box underneath. They were fine... you just need the space for them in the car. :)

Thats a relief. I was afraid they would get too hot or something.

Sorry to jump in on your post MissyNR, I saw yours and remember I meant to ask.
