Ludicrous weather. Finally will be over by tonight. Spring returns tomorrow!
Clock Tower in Boston.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 45
With my thin blood, I'll take all the heat I can get.
Hi Chuck! How are you?
Hi Chuck!!
Still 85! So looking forward to the big change.
Wind is really gusting, & there are dark clouds in the western sky---if this blows through without showers, I'll be very disappointed.
Cool and rain today - we needed it.
Getting very windy. Can feel the change coming. 78.
Today was absolutely ridiculous! Official high here was 94 degrees. My Tulips that opened two days ago burnt up in the heat. I have an edible cherry tree that decided to flower today. I sure hope we don't lose the crop to cold because my little one has been talking about eating cherries from our cherry tree all winter. Dafs that were no where near up enough to bloom opened right up. The weirdest thing is not all the forsythias in the area are blooming. Not a good sign - I think they know something isn't right. It wouldn't of been so bad if my pool wasn't so darn cold. At least I could have taken a dip. It isn't hooked up to the propane yet - so I couldn't have heated it even if I wanted to foot the bill for the propane usage. I got in my kids kiddie pool with them - it is the smallest size. If any one saw me they would have cracked up laughing at me. I can't wait for spring to return tomorrow. I love warm weather but it is really reaking havoc on my garden plants and plans! Have a wonderful evening everyone. I am really enjoying this cool down. : )
Cool and rainy - high 62*. The temperature dropped to 44* already.
Thanks for the pic, Victor. It'll help me looking for them. Countrymom, I'm about an hour west of you. It's nice to have someone with the weather at the same time I have it. IrisMa gets my weather a couple of days later, she also has the ocean messing hers up.
Guess we can expect the same weather tomorrow afternoon.
Today was a lot nicer than the pass couple...it was a northernly wind instead of that humid south breeze that I couldn't breath in.
High here was 89
oooh, so sorry, but 89° sounds so wonderful to me. Of course, that won't happen here until perhaps August. Maybe..... Sometimes it does not reach beyond 80°. This might sound great, but with this maritime climate, we don't build up heat units like many other areas of the USA. Hence - paltry tomato/pepper/cuke/eggplant crops.
But we do grow excellent potatoes!!!
ok back to normal today... 55 now going up to 57 and some rain
We broke records yesterday, was 92 in our Capitol. Highly unusual for April in Maine.
Then is cooled way down last night with whipping winds bringing in cooler weather.
Part Sun: 43°
Barometer:30.41 in and rising
Humidity:42%
Visibility:10 mi
Dewpoint:21°
Wind:NNW 5 mph
Sunrise:5:32 am
Sunset:7:41 pm
High 62
Sunny and 52. Wonderful! Nice for my hike.
Have a great hike, Victor---I'll be taking Suey out in a few min. The front produced no rain for us, so I have to water today---rats! Am heading up to the farm to babysit this afternoon----then I'll collapse!
Rain this morning..now it's cool and cloudy...58 high of 61 expected
55 and because of yesterdays rain, and today breeze, it's alittle raw. If the wind would stop it would be nice.
Great day. Had a very nice hike. I'll post some pics later - here and on the rocks thread. Sunny and 64 - actual spring weather!
Sun keeps peeking every so often, nice and comfortable out.
I haven't seen any sun. BooHoo (:
Didn't rain here either. Nice day. Just right, sunny and cooler.
Cooler & workable outside--got iris pictures of the MDBs, daffs still hoilding up in spite of last weekend's heat.
Nice pics, Victor. I like the horse one best. It's the same color as mine, just has more white on the face than mine. I hpoe the wind will die down tomorrow.
real nice pics Victor! 45 now.. going up to 62 we did not get any rain yesterday like they said... but calling for showers this afternoon
Here it is. The last day of April. We brought the potted plants in last evening, because we were supposed to get a light frost. We did. What strange weather we have been having lately!
Victor, I didn't see any large planes in your NY photo (LOL).
Currently:
Clear and sunny skies, with a temp of 51°. The temps will break 70° today.
Wind: N at 7 MPH
Humidity: 13%
Dewpoint: 11°
Pressure: 30.44 in. and falling
We'll have increasing clouds throughout the afternoon with the possibility of a rain shower or T-storm during the overnight. That will be good. We certainly need it, as we have been under a Red Flag Warning for most of the week.
And, that's the report from the southwest corner of my northeast state!
Now 50 supposed to go into 60s this afternoon. Will put plants out on the back porch which were brought in last night.
Same weather expected as Allison's.
52 here and raining. At least it's not raw. My grass in the garden is laughing at me as I haven't been able to pull it out yet. Getting DH to help Sun as he's off that day and nothing going on with the kids.(high school)
Cool - 66* - and light rain.
Overcast and 65. They'll be imploding a local bridge here in a few minutes. Should be fun!
Victor
Do you like bangs!? New bridge up I hope?
It was cool. I watched it live on the local newspaper's website. Here's a link:

I did not hear it from my house. Kind of surprised.
OMG!!!
cool
not sure about tonight... but we had a sprinkle here for about 30 seconds... that's it
The cool weather isn't all that bad. It just takes a little while to put sweaters on all the plants.
Chuck
