I need to find a cheap place online to buy pots to put the plants I bought waaay too early before they get rootbound.
They are mostly annuals and I can see they will be seriously comprimised if I keep them in the pots they are in now.
I don't have any here at home and no alternative type containers to use either. I found one place that had them quite cheap but shipping was more than the order!
place to buy transplanting pots for stuff I bought too early
I bought some on eBay a long time ago. You might try that. They were very inexpensive. Another option is to visit a local nursery. Often, they have bazillions of them headed for the landfill.
I like Growers Solution because they allow home gardeners to buy smaller quantities.

Do you have someplace like Home Depot/Lowes in your area? They probably won't have the garden center up and running yet in your area, but they may have some pots around.
If there is a gardening club or a Master Gardeners group in your area, contact them. The local Chamber of Commerce ought to know a contact for a club, and your local agricultural extension agent can tell you about the Master Gardeners contact. Both usually have a stash of pots, and for a donation, would be glad to share with you. They might not even want a donation, just let you use the pots and return them when done. Also, if there is a privately owned nursery (not a Big Box) they may have extra pots you can buy. In a pinch, there are always waxed milk cartons or the plastic ones with the top cut off and drainage holes in the bottom. Good luck to you and your plants!
Thanks so much for the ideas. I am getting right on it!
