My neighbor gave me cuttings of a vine called Carolina Johnson Now he said to put them in water.They are outside vines ,should I dip cut ends in root hormones and plant them ?

He may have said Carolina Jessamine. (poor man's rope) some folks call it Jasmin. Conferderate Jasmin is white and more fragrant --different from the Jessamine.

I would try both --rooting in water and planting in dirt. I got one in bloom now that was given to me.
