Gita, t hat blue fringed clematis strongly reminds me of a passionflower. Holly, after 2 years of trying to kill a Wisteria I planted 2 years ago (with roundup cause it was getting aggressive), when it came up this year, I gave up & got a trellis for it. I have Robinia (White Locust) seeds if any one wants to try that. I just bury my head in the fragrant white pea-shaped blooms, and drift away for awhile. I looked it up & my "flower" is the pea flower.
Spring Peeking Vol 3
Pgt, The sale is not held at the college. That's the name of the Chapter.
Buttoneer, I have a friend who has one as large as Holly's in their front yard. Everytime I walk by it I give it a wide berth as I imagine one of those arching tendrils wrapping around my neck!! Another friend, who tried for 15 years to kill one, finally called a professional.
Judy, I'll take a picture of my "tamed" Wisteria "tree" tomarrow for you.
I also had one that persisted in growing so I started training it to a single stem wound around a rebar but after a few years the rebar gave out, hubby pounded a old pipe into the ground and fasten the broken rebar to it. It looks really nice when it blooms, I give it a trim when it starts to get unrulely, not a big deal if you keep after it.
Stormy, hold down the alt key and press #3 on your number key pad, make sure the number lock is on ♥, do the same but hit #1 ☺ Have fun.
here are some pics I took yesterday

Onewish, your photos and plants are absolutely beautiful. I think your Hummer shots are some of the best ever!
Here's one going on my wish list: http://www.terranovanurseries.com/wholesale/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=521
Love the pictures onewish. I'm trying to get a picture of my orioles, he brought a girlfriend to the feeder this morning, he was eating grape jelly, and she was getting juiced. LOL
Stormy, shame on you! you have me drooling all over my keyboard.
Thought some of you may be interested in this.

Heuchera's are so additive, like coleus. So many pretty ones, have to add to the collection a few at a time. I added Purple Petticoat and Lime Rickey this year so far.
Stormyla, That is my Nandina, just put that in a week or so ago. I've wanted one for years and they had them at Lowes or HD for $6 couldn't resist. I picked up two not sure if the other one will go out back or down to Josh's. It should give me some nice winter color out there. I've never visited the Shade Garden Fourm, it would be a very bad place for me. Although Josh and Jen (son & daughter) do, might get some good ideas for Jen's house. I really don't have a lot of shade but keep buying shade plants. LOL Your Epimediums are lovely.
Onewish, I saw your Hummer pic on the Bird Forum. I haven't seen the hummers here yet but Ric has. I have that same feeder and it is the best feeder in MHO. Your pics are just beautiful. Is that the Raspberry Splash Pulmonaria. Mine didn't come back up this spring and I'm not sure why not it was looking pretty good last fall.
LadyG, LOL yes I knew you didn't think he liked my flowers. (Giggle, Giggle)
Morning everyone, I guess everyone was tired from doing all your gardening yesterday and digging up all those plants for the Swap, no one posted anything over night, and I went to bed early to, spent most of the day gardening, boy, was I tired! I did take a break and got some flower shots.

He is a really big cat, bigger then my dogs. I don't know what he thinks he is sharpening on the log, he was declawed when he came to our back door maybe 5 years ago on a very bitter cold Feb. day, cold and skinny. He is not the friendliest or bravest cat. I found out later that he was in a home with a bunch of unruly childern, who later moved in next door to me. I asked the mother if she wanted him back. She quickly said "no, he bit my kids". To this day when he hears those kids out side he runs and hides.
LadyG, Lovely garden, I picked up a few Japanese painted ferns again this year. I didn't have any luck with them the last time. The plants weren't the best when I received them the last time so hopefully these will do better. I just love that moss and stream pic.
Poor Fred he must think he is in heaven now that he is away from those kids. Here is my Bubbles, Silly cat is always under my nose when I'm out doing my gardening. Usually sticking her tail in my face when I'm weeding or planting. Yesterday she just had to help with some potting. LOL
Beautiful, Chris....how long did it take for your woodruff to fill in? it does spread on it's own, right?
With the sun coming out today I can't wait to see what will bloom in the next week or so!
Jen, I'm not sure how long that stand of Sweet Woodruff has been growing there, I had some in other places in the garden and have moved it to different areas when it gets to a spot I don't want it. It spreads underground but the roots are pretty shallow.
It lets off a pleasant fragrance if you nick a spot with the lawn mower, so I don't mind DH cutting close to the plant.
You can also trim some off with scissors toss in basket and let it dry in the house, smells good.
I have one little one I got from someone at the NE roundup last year and was just wondering how long it's going to take to spread.
Thanks for the info.
Jen, they seem to like loose soil, I was thinking of ruffing up the bare soil and adding some shreaded leaves in that area to help mine along.
Oh, good to know.
Holly, I put in 2 Coppertina Ninebarks about 3 years ago. I liked them so much that Last year, I added 6 Ninebarks, 3 Coppertina and 3 Diablos. They are now leafing out nicely. I can't wait to see the purple foliage and white fowers on Diablo.
There were 4 Pulmonarias in my garden, now only 3. But all of mine (different varieties) have reverted to plain green. RCN told me that they all revert in her garden and she doesn't use them anymore.
Your Tiarellas are beautiful. I have a harder time identifying them by sight than Heuchera. Last year my nieces and I spent 4 days labling all of my unlabled plants. I used markers that were guaranteed to be permanent. Hardly any one is now readable. What a PITA!!!! Maybe I can talk them into an encore this summer with a promise of a beach weekend or some concert tickets!! Just bought a stash of paint pens. Looking those all up again is going to be a pain, especially the Hosta & lilies.
Lady, your blooms are lovely. Lowes has some really nice sized Jap Painted Ferns right now for $3.97. They make those ones I got on the co-op look like peanuts. Although, the ones from the coop have better coloring.
HD has some nice Heuchera for sale right now for $3.98. That's a very good buy.
I'm seeing a lot less evidence of massive vole population this year. Maybe that frozen winter killed some of them off. However those buggers did their dirty work on my IRIS. Whole sections are missing.
So, I'm looking to put some ground covers back into the beds. While searching for some, I came across this website, which had a good selection at great prices. They also had a very nice selection of hardy geraniums and very reasonaby priced Epimediums.

They have great write ups in the Watchdog and then I recalled RCN saying she had bought plants from them and was very pleased.
