Hey, there are lots of my friends here. And new ones to boot: perfect. So many nice things in bloom. Thank you for sharing with everyone.

Placenciarita, you have 2 plants that I wish you would ID for me. Both were posted on April 24th. First, there is that red spikey flower and then there are those pink hanging flowers. What are those, please so I can find a supplier. I first saw the in second ones at Hawai'i National Botanical Gardens. What a day that was. You think I would have photographed the name plate? No, that's too organized for me.

Thank you.
Sylvain.

my new favorite conferate jasmine. this i got on saturday at fairchild's sale. i have a neighbor that was thowing this fencing out so i wrapped it around it as support. it shouldn't matter that it is all rusted should it? other than the fact it is ugly.

Unfortunately Rita I don't know what that yellow flower is either :) I had to find mine in my Northeastern wildflower guide :) It's pretty whatever it is :)

You're going to love your potato tree, Cass. It was finicky when first planted and also decided to get full of aphids. That was a battle for awhile, but it finally took off and is my DH favorite plant. Plus, your front yard is quite a change from the last time I saw it. WOW. Your place is picture perfect!

nancy
did you get yours from armando or at mounts a couple of years ago. i think the one armando gave me was different than this oneit didn't have spines and it died from the cold. does yours have spines?

Hi Sylvain, the pink hanging flowers from Apr. 24 is Medinilla magnifica. The spikey red flower looks like an Aechmea Bromeliad.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Hey Rachel, it was just like Rita's plant.
Hi Candela..haven't seen you for a bit. How fast do the Heliconias grow?

I have one, and it's spreading alright, but it's remained very short..have been expecting it to gain height..but ..it's not happening.
Clerodendrum Panticulatum

you can see the Heliconia left lower in this pict.

Go ahead RJ rub it in how much rain you're getting and I'm not . . .LOL . . .beautiful pictures. I bet your rubber vine has started blooming, huh???? This morning we've had wind like I've never seen it before except at the start of a hurricane. Just unreal how windy it was this morning. I've got to get out and water when I get home, but have Seth's choir concert to go to also.

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

hmm..well some folks are ready for it to stop. The Bayou's were overflowing trees were half under water..was a sight. Yes, looks like the first rubber vine flower will open today or tomorrow.
Hi Princess.

Great Blog RJ :)

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Seems Mother Nature is on a tear. Just 3 weeks ago today some 60-75 miles from us there were wildfires that cleared some 120,000 acres. Last nights tv news reported that they already had 10-14 inches of rains and it was still raining wreaking even more havoc.

We have had rain off and on for 2 weeks usually 1-2 inches. My garden is flourishing but has been sadly neglected and not everything that is growing is just exactly what I want.

RJ, must have whatever you did a few weeks ago as I have been to Dr. twice and am still having trouble with sinus infection and bronchitis. It started the night of the fires as we were covered with the smoke. Everyone thought we were having a dust storm not realizing it was such heavy smoke.

One day at a time, Randy.

xoxo

Yes Patty, this does look more yellow than normal ..could be because so much rain and needs food!?

Thumbnail by rjuddharrison
Portland, TX(Zone 9a)

Are you sure that is Pink Lemonade and not the yellow one that you have? Could be cause your temp's have been cooler with all that rain???

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Planter56, I found the name of my plant ,it is a Jerusalem Sage. From what I read about them, I sure will try to keep them alive. They add interest to the garden, and the Hummingbirds love them also.

Lourspolaire, Metrosideros gave the correct Id on the plants and I would like to thank him.
I found that Medinilla Magnifica at Natural Selections Exotics in Florida and the Bromeliad at Lowes' mark down area several years ago.
