I have some raised bed gardens and have a single run of 3/4 pipe from the house to them - off this pipe at each garden I have drip hose runs. This has worked the last couple years, but this year it seems I have too much area to water, so I am finding my drip hose is dripping very slowly near the end of the runs, or not at all.
For now I worked around the issue by making my drip hose runs shorter and optimizing the runs so there are less emitters, but ultimately I think I am going to need to make zones that water at different times.
I really want to avoid having to run more pipe from the house, and was hoping I could have the house water turn on say for an hour, and have some type of battery powered valve that turns on either at a specific time, or when it detects water or something and give 30 mins to one zone, 30 to the other ...??
Or do you have any other suggestions?
battery powered water valve
I think the controller is your best bet--there are a number of different ones available. Some are very simple and can only do one zone, but there are others that can do multiple zones. This page will give you an idea of some of the things that are out there http://www.nextag.com/water-timer/search-html
