I got a great deal on Rose bushes 2 weeks ago (49 cents after mail-in rebate). However, since I am in zone 5a and we are not out of the woods weather wise yet (snow tonight, 80 degrees by Friday) I have been keeping them inside my laundry room in their original bags (not the kind that came in a pot - they have some dirt around the roots in plastic bagging). I have been concerned that since they aren't getting water or sunlight I may be killing any hope of them growing when I do plant them. Today I looked and they are actually growing new leaves and branches! Is keeping them inside sans water or sunlight really ok or should I be doing something else for them until I can get them in the ground this weekend? Thanks!
New rose bush question
They are fine just like they are.
They are in the ground! I am having trouble locating information that tells me how long before I should expect to see growth? I have planted a variety of roses and if some of them aren't going to make it I would like to replace them before summer. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find information on "time lines" related to growing rose bushes?
Thanks!
P.S. I have planted:
Climbing Queen Elizabeth
Climbing Pinata
Angel Face
Paradise
Lady X
New Day
New Year
Snowfire
