A fellow gardener was talking about planting caladiums when the ground got warmer. She said she would "Harden them up" in the meantime. What does that term mean?
What that term means ?
She probably meant harden them off, which means taking plants that have been indoors or in a greenhouse and gradually adjusting them to outdoor temperatures (and outdoor light levels in the case of something that's been indoors).
