Pieris.
Garden Photos of '09.... #13
My Pieris look great this year!
the pics are great, as usual, Victor. That agastache jubilee looks really interesting, I'll have to check that out! is the hyacinth supposed to be a dark reddish purple that changes to a dark royal blue?
are we going to get to see your pieris?
Thanks, Shelly. I like Golden Jubilee, but it does self-seed quite a lot! The hyacinth is blue-purple the whole time.
For me, I would like to hear that about the agastache. I would just move the seedlings around a lot then! couldn't be any worse than some of my more docile weeds. right now cardamine is how on my enemy weed list. I worded the description of the hyacinth wrong. I meant the outside of the flower petal is dark reddish purple and the inside if it, towards the stem, is royal blue? It reminds me of some that I tried to plant out where the gophers would get them, before I knew that they would get them.
Yes, the outside is more reddish-purple, and it gets bluer as it goes in.
I like Golden Jubilee for that reason. I use it as a ground cover in some areas.
that agastache as a ground cover would be a really pretty ground cover, I'll look forward to seeing that!

Nice color!
Great pics...I didn't know hyacinth came in colors like that. Looks like Spring has really arrived for you.
Everything here is still dead and brown looking..not too many signs of life, and none of it interesting yet.
Daffs in front of our wall are coming on stong.
I'm hoping for crocii flowers by the end of the week. All fingers and toes crossed ^_^
nice photo's victor - just walked the yard and was happy to see some growth starting - until i saw you pics!!:)
Very pretty photos! Loved the cut leaves on both geraniums, Jo Ann---and Victor---you have too much blooming! Only a few daffs & hyacinths here---and my faifthful heather. One clump of tulips is budded. Seems the bulbs have a much higher bud count this year---last year was a bust.
Nice pictures, Victor. I especially like the color of Rozanne.

Jo Anne, I have 2 epimediums, a purple one and a white one. I really like them, too. Great additions to the shade garden.
Shelly, I tried that 'Druett's Variegated' silene here, and it didn't survive. I would like to try again. I really like the foliage.
Great pics, Shelly!

You have great pics, too, Victor! I love the daffs. You seem to be ahead of me, Victor, in things that are blooming/getting ready to bloom/budding out.

Nice to see some color in your gardens way up north, Cousin Nut!
Karen
LOL! It does look like something from a bulb, but I couldn't tell you what. Will have to wait till it gets bigger. Oops! Did I say that?!!!!
Karen
great shots everyone
Great pics Victor! I so love the hyacinths!
Dahlia, I'm so happy to see stuff coming up and doing well for you.
Thanks Karen. Sorry to here that the Silene didn't make it for you. Maybe it's that you pampered it? they really can put up with just about every scenario other than sitting in soggy wet soil. I've seen them in rocks as well as rock gardens, loam soil, bark o mulch, full shade and full sun (not the variegated one) and they were just plugging right along. At a place where I do some landscaping... I planted the Druetts vareiegated between the rocks in a stone and sand staircase. They've lived there two years now.
love that rain drop shot
I will try the Druett's Variegated again, Shelly. Nice pics, especially the raindrop.

Victor I love the color of that peach Hyacinth and Rozanne is beautiful as always. ^_^
I love any varigated foliage and I do mean any!!
Got on my hands and knee's to snap this just because of the colors. This is a new tulip I planted last fall, not sure which one at the moment. Love the rose color on the tip top.
