Lupine's!!!
Garden Photos of '09.... #13
Didnt bring home but I bought a Japanese Corellinum and will go back in May to pick it up when its leaved out. They have trippled the size of the property, made teraces and brought in huge boulders to make show japanese gardens. Its going to be stunning when they have it done and trees are leafed out.
As we know perenns are dormant so no temptations there. Kriss the perennial expert said there will be a couple of truck loads of new plants and lots of astilbes.
I will do damage in May.
Wish I had taken my camera. There are twisted weeping cypress, must be 50 years old. 10 feet long and 6 feet high. If anyone loves oriental gardens its really a sight to see.The long primery branches held up with 6" diameter bamboo.
nice Pixie!
Thanks Allison!
Sounds lovely Jo Ann
Thanks Shelly and Celeste. Love that raindrop shot, Shelly.
Celeste - you seem to be catching up quickly!
WOW Pixie you're coming on strong! TOTALLT luv the pink tipped stripey foliage tulip.
Joanne very nice choice on the jm corallinum - patti and i - not sure about victor - got one from the special deal from the person on the jm forum -
Hee hee - it was my photo of mine that clinched it for Jo Ann! I have one for two years and I did get another one.
Victor is right. I love that spring shrimp color.
Wish I had the idea when the co-op was on.
I am just now going to the co-op site.
Red primrose has blooms opening up. Many to come.
Hey my martagon Backhouse 's from Brent andBecks are coming up. I didnt think I would see them.
I got Turks cap from American Meadows ,there is no sihn of them
Why not the Backhouse ge1836?
The wild lily martagons are the ones that havnt come up yet.
Backhouse is doing fine.
I had heard some Martagones thke years to grow so I'm not pushing the panic button yet
I'm on year 3 with Mrs R.O. Backhouse. I hope this year it finally starts thriving. It's coming on strong compared to previous years.
Hmmmmm
Does that mean this first year will be flimsey?
It's been very slow growing and not much height. I do wonder if it has been too crowded by other stuff so I'm giving it more breathing room this year.
I had heard they were slow. B&Bks says 32 inches , I dont consider that tall for lilies.
I would think anything named Backhouse should grow well.
Here is part of a big stand of crocus 'pickwick' and narcissus tete a tete.
I have Narcissus Sagitta out this week which was a favorite last season for us. It has returned in good form. Bought from VAN ENGELEN in 2007. I will get a better picture as the straw pale yellow with the peachy corona is really nice. It does face down a bit, so I should plant some where it is more visible. Next year! Patti
Looking good Patti, love that pic of the dogs.
Inside blooms. Hippeastrum 'Noid' orange, 'Dancing Queen', 'Apple Blossom'. Off to back for our trip south. We will miss many, many bulbs. But seeing our DS is worth it.
I will so enjoy watching everyone's photo's while away.
Pixie, you garden has exploded. Loving it all. And beyond jealous of your lupines. I can not grow one to save my soul.
Victor, love that peachy hyacinthus too, but mine opened pink, though in bud they are that great peach. Do you have a name? Mine is called Anne Marie from a coop buy 15 for 7.35 from Blooming bulb in 2007. This is their second year and I kept meaning to move them last spring, but forgot. Funny thing is that I had another Pink one called 'China Pink' that I moved from another spot because I hated it too in 2007. I potted it up as a forced bulb. It blooms, but not well. I think I will plant it out again if I remember it! And if I can find the right spot.
Flowerjen, thanks, our dear dogs are loving the spring romping. I am hating all the broken stems. They seem to love to massacre the tulips. Patti
Great shots, Patti!m Spring is really in force there. Sorry - I don't know that name of that hyacinth. In fact, I don't even remember planting it. Nice surprise. I have seen a number of volunteers.
Victor, I want to see it open. Patti
