East Texas RU Food & Head count

Ok I can smoke a brisket, and some *secret* bbq sauce.

What time does this shindig start? It will take us 2 1/2 houurs to get there. We are not leaving at dark:30, no waynos!!

time was set for 9am but I know not everyone will make it by then so we will just do trades and visit till everyone is there then lunch and then door prizes

Hey! Now I will not feel so bad if I don't get on the road until 8:00 instead of 7:00. Gives me time for more coffee, which will make me much more fun to talk to. :)

LOL And here we are planning to rise at 5:00 a.m. so we don't miss the fun. It is nearly a four hour drive for us. Last Saturday I woke and looked at the clock which read 6:30. We were planning to leave at 7:00 for the RU in Bryan. I got up, turned off the alarm before it went off, and showered. When I came out of the bathroom, I looked at the clock again. 2:40. DDH had left the button in the "set alarm" position, and when I pushed the button to the right the real time showed up. I never did go back to sleep, and it was a very long day. This time I will set the clock.

Well, I hope to meet Smock @ the truck stop on I-59. And knowing him, it will be quite early Sat mornig!!!

I'm bringing two desserts-Blackberry Cobbler for the sugar-holics and Strawberry Shortcake (trifle, sorta!) made with fresh strawberries in sugar-free glaze layered with slices of angel food cake and lite whipped topping (Wal-Mart's Cool Whip). Even diabetics should be able to eat a small helping!

We should arrive around 10ish. Looking forward to it!

I'm finishing up getting the plants and such in the car and have to get my pea salad made yet but that is easy and quick

Missed you, Pattie! I hope you are feeling better. I sent Kim's plants and pots with Sylvia for you. LOL We've got to figure out a way to clear up confusion about our names. We were a little late arriving because of heavy rain, and several people told that they heard I wasn't coming. One told me she had given away my plants, but it turned out she hadn't.

Yes, Pat, I got home with a couple of things from Arlington that were labeled "for pbtxlady - Pat." I think they were all supposed to be mine, but people are confused between Pat and Pattie. It's okay with me to be PB, if that would help.

Yes, I had a boatload of plants to deliver today. I am so sorry--and so disappointed! I was really looking forward to seeing everyone. :( In case Phyllis didn't mention what happened, I suffer from serious insomnia sometimes, and it turned out that last night was one of those. I stumbled out of here this morning with about a half hour of sleep, in blinding rain. I got all the way to Kaufman and decided I had to turn around. I was just not a safe enough driver to drive 150 miles alone--and then turn around and make the same trip home. :(

I will see what I can work out about some of these plants.

I got back to Magnolia w/ILove Jesus, plants & it seems they were all fr you!
Not a problem fr here! & If Sandy says anything, I will give her a hard time b/c I have her plants fr YOU!!!
I'm unemployed since Aug & then Ike paid me a personal visit!
