we are still at 90 now.... I broke down and put the air on.. couldn't take it anymore.. and my one yorkie was stressing over the heat... just pacing and panting ... she didn't rest all day... 15 mins after I put the air on... passed out cold
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 44
Krappy start to the day with cold mist and fog. Afternoon was sunny and warmer but temps stayed 70's.
I had no internet from 7AM -5PM What a world.
It didn't need to be 80. 60 or 70 would have been just fine.
Hee, hee, hee, Louise. I didn't prepare dinner. Gregg always does the BBQ. That HIS domain, and won't let me get near it. That's OK with me, as I can't stand the smell of lamb. Somehow the sweet smell of BBQ covered it well.
It WAS a great dinner ~ as is any dinner I don't have to cook!
I cooked today's dinner last night at 9:30, when the temp went down---it was 91 in Windsor Locks, but close here! Today was not as hot, but no breeze---really stifling---I should put on the air, but the fans are OK right now.
I know just what you mean, Candyce. Hank fixed dinner tonight - tilapia, the last of my fresh broccoli, steamed, and a baked sweet potato. I LOVE it when dinner is served to me and all I have to do is eat it. LOL I did earn it today. One more close up day to go. Tomorrow is IT for us.
Whoo Hoo!
Good for you, Hank. Thank you for taking care of my sweet Louise.
He's a keeper!
I'l say it again...too darn hot for April I can't take it. high was 87. It felt hotter than that
Could have been 93!
Glad it wasn't!
yesterday was 80F and nice till the thunder storm rolled in at dinner time which cooled everything down to a dark damp 64F as a max for today and tomorrow is hot again and the cycle continues all week so great time to plant just before the rain yes that works for me finally planted all my columbines 200 plants it took me five hours and another two to do the delphiniums and a few other yes seven flats down and only 27 more to go ahahahahahaha will do three more tomorrow
It was 93 here, too. Down to 72 now. Big fan is doing a fine job. Was real tempted to turn on the AC. It was mid 80's inside. but I knew it would cool down at night. Mom loved it. LOL
Actual high today 91
It got to 87 in the house there was NO WAY I'd be able to sleep, so we broke down and put the a/c on.
thanks Jen.. at least I am not alone... the heat also made Randy want to sleep most of the day glad we put the air on... we never did get those thunderstorms last night.... looks like a few more days of this too hot for April weather

Soooooo nice outside! I wanna get out, too. But it will be later on this afternoon for me. Between the kiddos and the morning chores, (and talking to you guys), I'm pretty busy until after naptime. Theirs, not mine.

It'll be way warm here!
Very nice, though pretty hot in the sun. Have to start on the back today. Will select the shady areas!
nice here as well - will not be able to get out until this afternoon after a trip to HD for more sand and then I will begin planting a few arrivals and moving the veggies out to the cold tent.
Hope there's beer in the cold tent.
getting low as in all most out - brewing this week:)
Glacier ESB a sweet bitters
Sunny & warm, although not too hot as yet. DH has been working in the garden--I had to spend the time typing a letter and making lots of mistakes. Now 71.
It's 80 again here. The jump from 40's to 80's is a killer. 60's the rest of the week. Hope to get into the garden today.
Calling for 90 again today, I watered the plants this morning and won't go back out there till about 4pm as I have hardly any shade in the backyard.
I'm with you, jen. Was out earlier, but my AC kicked on at 10 am and we have the thermostat set for it to come on when the house gets to be 80.
I'm just back in. WAY too hot for April! Though it's about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday, it's roasting in the sun.
freezing is defiatly not good. This won't last long as it's only April.
Cool breeze, but sun is hot--hotter tomorrow. Oh ugh!! Spent the morning typeing letter for int. median round robin. First SDB 'Eyebright bloomed today, but there are more MDBs yet to come--horray for small irises.
hot out there today and the black fly's are very annoying - laughed at someone the other day who had a net hat on - serves me right.
did not get much done - cable TV guy messed me up - only three WH, three zenobia's and one smoke bush. did water everything - some of the new little jm's are stressing a bit.
I got a good deal done, but was dying in the heat. Good amount cleaned and cut out back. Having more JM problems too. Large (about 5.5 feet) Beni ubi gohan planted in fall looks dead and the new Royle is dropping leaves. Not a happy camper.
Wow! Hot today. Everything is exploding (magnolias, primroses, bloodroot, pulmonaria, trout lilies, tulips, daffodils) and then after tomorrow back to the mid 60s here so the flowers will stay open a while. Can't wait.
Thanks, Kathy. I have not gotten JM's from them but have gotten other shrubs. Good stuff.
well to meet you
mona
