Today's Weather in Your Garden - 44

Cuyahoga Falls, OH(Zone 5a)

Another gorgeous hot day here in north east Ohio. 83* and sunny.

Flowerjen - It went to 80* in the house yesterday. That is too warm for me.
The funny thing is - the a/c didn't work ! I ran it for six hours and the temperature in the livingroom went up to 82*.

I called the landlord this morning, and he said they would get right on it - Monday... I'll bet the a/c at his house is running just fine - LOL !

There is a nice breeze today, so I have all the windows open and the fans going.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hope you cool off soon, CountryMom!!
Louise

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Up to 88. Had to come in for a bit. Should have put on sunscreen.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Crazy hot here. We hit 92!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

You are so right Victor !! 80 here today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

92!!!! What are we doing down here in cool Florida???!!!!! And I thought it was hot here!! Global NY warming???

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

It's still pretty warm, even now.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - pretty crazy. Still 80 right now.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

79 here right now. What the heck!!!???

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Too hot for April!!!! High was 88

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Certainly is. Looks like it's back to normal by Wed - high in the mid 60's. Love that.

South Hamilton, MA

Really too hot to work--new daffs out I hope it will cool enough so that they stick around.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

they said 86 ... we hit 89 yesterday... I refused to put the air conditioner on but my 2nd floor was unbearable with the plant lights... slept with all the windows open.... feels nice now

69 now going up to 86... maybe some thunderstorms today

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Hi Onewish
Isnt it glorious?
I'll be spraying for deer and Lily Beetles today.
Using different controles of course.
Back to reality next week

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I have to do my deer spray as well.... still don't know if I believe if it doesn't wash off in the rain like they say... actually reality temps I like the best

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

If the spray is allowed to dry I think its working.
DD's #2+3 were over last night and discovered the beetle on my new Martagon. I used Bonide earlier in the month for Iris borer and beetle but guess I missed the Marts.
Someone on Lily forum said the larve for this year are in the ground and she sprays around all ger lilies before both lily and beetles emerge.
I mentioned to DD's its easier to garden when its cold than in June when its 80 + humid.

We had the windows open all night - it was hot in the afternoon but the night was nice. Today nice again ! Whoo Hooo!!!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Its grey and overcast rain in the forecast and it looks like it will start any minute.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Slept with the windows open last night. It was heavenly!! I love the fresh air.

Yesterday's temps broke all kinds of records here in New Hampshire. Concord's previous record high of 85° (from 1942) was shattered as the capitol city briefly hit 90 degrees! Portsmouth's record of 80° also fell with a new record of 87°, but a 'back door cold front' should help things stay a bit cooler today ... if you can call 78° in April 'cooler'! Going outside after Sunday brunch to do some edging around a straggling forsythia.

Partly Cloudy so far, but really brightening up
65° outside the door, very comfortable!
Wind: VRB at 5 MPH
Humidity: 51%
Dewpoint: 53°
Pressure: 30.11 in. and rising

Sunrise: 5:46 am (it was up before I was this morning!)
Sunset: 7:41 pm

Forecast for today:
Partly Sunny, Still Warm...Except Cooler In Northern NH & Along The Coast In The Afternoon...A Quick Shower Possible

A good day for weeding and edging! I want a hot tub, too!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We were 30 degree's warmer than normal yesterday, normal is in the 50's.
Weather man says the high for today will be 68...he should of done his homework............it's already 72!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Wow, Pixie. 72° already? We just broke 66° here!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

It's bright and sunny out, no breeze to speak of......I need to get out and get some work done in case it changes!! lol

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

84 and sunny. Dumb hot again today.

The spray does linger after rains, but at this time of year you have to keep applying it because of all the new growth.

Moscow, ID(Zone 5a)

Hey Victor! You've got twice as many degrees as me! Can I split the difference with you?
No warm here, except with hoodie polarfleece. Who sent us this icy wind?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Crazy pattern, isn't it?!

NH broke a record high yesterday. Dont matter - it was nice.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It was nicer than nice, but better today!

Cuyahoga Falls, OH(Zone 5a)

By yesterday afternoon it was 85* outside and 89* upstairs. I gave up on the landlord and went to WM. I bought two air conditioners - the kind that stand upright on the floor.

On toward morning, I turned the a/c off and opened the windows. It had dropped to 60* during the night.

This afternoon is bright and sunny - another 85* day. It is supposed to rain this evening.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

88 and hot!! The overnight low only dropped to 64!

What are you gonna do when it hits 94 and only drops to 84 at night

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Still complain. But that's usually in late July, when it's expected.

At that point the air would go on !

South Hamilton, MA

We have a rather cool house, but certainly neither of us works well in the hot sun.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

At about 1 pm the bank uptown showed 93. I can't work outside when it is this hot.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Thankfully, it is a blessed 76 here with a slight breeze ~ very comfortable. Got lamb chops, pork chops, and chicken going on the BBQ. A very perfect day!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hit 93 again! 91.4 now. Ugh.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

That's a bit too much, Victor. It's too much even if we were praying for it near the end of March!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - tell me about it! I'm a spring & fall person.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Me too. More spring, though, than fall.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yum, Candyce, that sounds like a nice dinner your preparing!!
