Someone gave me tulip bulbs and daffodill bulbs, also. Is it too late in the season to plant them? I've never had them before.

Is it too late?
Hi Lynda,
I'm about 6 hours Northeast of you. Over the past few days, our daffodils growing in full sun have just started to fade and are getting that brown papery appearance. For a comparison though, those growing in part shade are about 2/3 regular size and have petite blooms that are still in their prime.
My neighbor's red and pink tulips just opened yesterday after two nights with freezing temps and sporadic rain showers you may have experienced too. With warmer weather in the forecast for the next few days, I expect those petals will fall.
Why don't you plant your bulbs in a sunny location so they can get established, sit back and wait for next year's show.
Alternatively, you might like to try forcing your bulbs. Check on DG for tips look here:

Hope You Have A Happy Easter,
Susan
Thank you Susan, I'll do just that.
Lynda
