my 20 year old (very healthy) hydrangea petiolaris was cut down last year due to house construction. the roots remain.
there is no sign of regrowth. will it regrow? and when? any recommendations like cut down to the roots and replant? or has it gone to heaven?
thanks so much

hydrangea petiolaris
When was it cut down? If it was cut down in the fall or over the winter it may just be in its winter dormant period still so I'd give it time to wake up and see if it regrows then. On the other hand if it was cut down last spring or early summer then it probably should have sprouted again last year if it was still alive.
