I just completed a soil evaluation by our state experts at the University of Georgia Extension, and was told I need to get a product called 0-20-0 to help my camellias. This means it has 0 parts nitrogen, 20 parts phosphorus, and 0 parts Potassium. The closest my local nursery could come was 1-15-0. Does anyone know a source for this product? Also I would like to get some gypsum to put in my soil. Home Depot and Pike's Nursery do not carry this. Again, does anyone know where I could pick up some? . . . perhaps a source on line? Thanks. John in the Atlanta area.
Where can I get gypsum and 0-20-0?
I think if you can't find 0-20-0 then the 1-15-0 would probably be an OK substitute--it's got a lot of phosphorus and the 1 part nitrogen shouldn't cause much of a problem as long as you're not adding nitrogen from a lot of other sources too. You might also try googling for "super phosphate", I think it has just phosphate. It might not be exactly 0-20-0 but you can adjust the amount you add to compensate (if it's 0-10-0 you add twice as much, if it's 0-40-0 you add half as much, etc).
