I have a very small yard and would like to hide a commercial compost bin behind a shrub. Does anyone have one to recommend? Also, I do not understand what I should do with my daily kitchen scraps while I am actively composting what is in the bin. Thanks, in advance, for any advice.

Requesting recommendations for a compost bin.
Since you have a small yard why not use lattice and a vine. Sorry I don't know what vine is good for your zone. I have seen on TV a little pot with a lid that they were putting kitchen scraps in. I don't know if it was just for scrapes or not. Sorry I couldn't help more.
I'll second the recommendation for a trellis with a vine, that's a much better option for a small space. For help with your composting, you should check out the Soil & Composting forum, I bet you would get lots of great advice there.
Thanks for the idea on the trellis. I have been pointed to the 'Soil and Composting' forum and will start following it.
You might want to get a "compost bucket" with a lid, for the daily kitchen scraps (no animal products, but paper egg cartons, eggshells and coffee grounds are fine). I keep mine tightly closed, and under the sink. When it's full I take it outside to the compost pile. No need to go out to the compost pile every day. The things start to decompose while in your compost bucket. My father used to use an old milk can that had a lid -- it doesn't need to be fancy, but needs to be easy to dump out (and rinse), and needs to have a lid.
If you have a small space and not tons of waste I'd look into continuous composting instead of batch. The tumbelers are for batch and you would need to store your food scraps till it's done. That can be difficult in a small space. You may want to look at continuous, where you add fresh scraps to the top as you go and pull compost from the bottom as it finishs up. If there are peices that aren't broken down to your likeing you can toss them back on the top.
Hi, I wrote an article recently about composting. If you have a time you can read it here: http://homegardenseedsorganic.com/how-to-make-compost
