nice plants you have there Debra... the i albivenia should have mostly white flowers and should grow a bottle shaped caudex.... when the plant grows some you should be able to raise the caudex so you can see it :-)

here's Ipomoea species white with purple centre... the flowers open later in the morning than the others... so it's not fully open.... i hope the pollen gets released before i have to leave for work....

morning glory species 2009
Really! Cool! Oh now I am so glad I fell into the odd species addiction.. I have quite a few of them planted down in the sand/beach area right above the water line where my son lives.. is that too close to water? about 5 feet from watery sand..
I also planted the pes capre, the merrima from emma, and a whole bunch of different things, oh yes the capensis too..
if you get pollen are you going to store it?
Here is his beach on the east side of the dock..I planted some stricto by the rail, and moon flowers in the little brick holes to trail down, and some mexican petunia .. put some beach glories from emma in the sand closer to the water.. I better get over there and look see that was on may 13th.. the beach faces north.. (the water is up high because of all the rain we have had here..)
oh Debra that's going to look gorgeous... i can't wait to see the future pics of the beach.
Debra and Colin - Love the I. albivenia photos! What a neat plant!!!!
Joseph says they are fragrant, too! Now that's a combo that can't be beat!!!
Keep up the great work growing these beauties! (And keep posting those amazing photos!)
well it's 8:30 here and it's nearly open...
it's gorgeous... but probably a little smaller than an i purpurea not as i previously thought...
and this last one showing the variability of the upper leaf lobes between plants...
the top one making a neat 5 pointed star shape with other lobes and the bottom one has the top lobes runing level with the lobes below them.
these leaves are from different sources, the top one belongs to the plant with the flower... the other is from an as yet unflowered plant...
