Here is Yucca elephantipes 'Variegata'. Easy to grow, and no thorns!

These Bromeliads are slow growing, but they're really cool!

This is Medinilla scortechinii, one of the few Melastoma Family members which does not become a weed in Hawai'i.

How about a Monotypic Genus? Here is Loropetalum chinense 'Razzleberri', Frizzle Flower!

LouisianaDale, I love plants in general. Tropicals are my favorite.
That is a beautiful picture of your yard. I see that you like lillies and Roses as well.
I don't know anything about central Texas but my husband does. He would prefer to live in the Austin , Round Rock area but he likes rocky, dry country and cares nothing for tropical plants.

Sunshinesw, your Susan is another keeper, lovely color. Will you plant your amaryllis family out in the garden, or keep them in their pots?
I have to agree with Brittany, that is another amazing Hoya. What a collection you have!!!!

Metrosideros, your old photo is new to us, that is a big beautiful orchid. I am enjoying all of your pictures. I do have a very small mediinilla scortechinii from e-bay that I treasure.
Do you have any tips on getting it to thrive in Texas?

Thankyou Rachel!

Placenciarita, thanks! gorgeous lush plants you have there. I am going to keep my amies in the pot for now. Rainy season is coming.

Keaau, HI

Make sure the Medinilla scortechinii gets plenty of water and sunshine!

Placenciarita -----Is that a Variegated Angel Trumpet in that picture? You are making my spring fever worse, lol! I just bought one and can't wait until it starts blooming.

Metrosideros ----gorgeous plants!

LouisianaDene, Gorgeous place you have there!

RJ. Thank YOU;-) Your fern tree is stunning. I have been "eyeing" it for a while now.

The photos don't even do it justice...it is startling when I look out the kitchen window and see this giant fern, it is going through a rapid growth spurt right now. It was looking so beautiful this morning

Please add a new pic of that beauty when you have time.

The biggest fern's I can grow here are the Ostrich and Cinnamon Fern's but they can not compare to the tree form's in my eye's.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

just came home from a long nite at Paulines to this wonderful gift of blooms

Dene, nice garden!
Joeswife, congrats!!!

I love the hidden ginger blooms but not the plant itself. They want to take over my gardens.

Rj, I bought this piece a few weeks ago and did not know what to do with it, until I read your blog.
I was not going to show it until I trimmed the bushes and painted it. Now I will have to go shopping for a new vine. lol

Metrosideros, Thanks. I was worried about watering it too much.

LouisianaDale, that variegated brug is a Maya, she is one of my favorite Brugs. I like the tropical look that the ginger gives, but here, they are not trying to take over the garden. I have had a Curcuma Scarlet Fever for a few years now without any blooms, but the foliage is very pretty. It's a keeper.
Your yard is so neat and pretty.

Thanks Rita! that's gorgeous amy.

Rj, the nong nooch vine died, even though I tried to keep the GH not lower than 55 degrees. Maybe I showed her off too much last summer.
