newbie needs advice on jap maple seed starts

I am completely new and usually not very successful with starting form scratch but I have about 1,000 jap maple seeds and was looking for any advice someone might give on starting them and what to do. I'm wanting to get plants growing so that I will have something to trade!

Did you buy the little peat pots. If not what did you plant them in?

Here are some instructions--there are a few things you need to do to simulate the conditions they need in nature to germinate, it's not as simple as just planting them. They're not the easiest seeds to start when you've never done seeds before but hopefully you'll have some luck with them. http://plantpropagation.com/japanesemaplefromseed.htm Or you could plant them outside and be patient and let nature do its thing but then it'll be a long while before you have seedlings to trade--the instructions here are for speeding up the process that would occur in nature.
