Not really blooming but starting to show good color. Neoregalia Nova (I think)

Ardesia: The Clivia are so pretty. I have one that has not bloomed in 3 years. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I keep waiting. :)
Lady Jane is adorable! ..and I think you're right about citrus, as my orange has more buds than it ever has.

Pyro, I'll go name those blossoms.

Deb, the clivia have to be really pot bound to be happy.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Ah. Well, maybe mine needs one-more-year. LOL. It does grow larger at least. :)

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I am sure there is no more soil in the pot mine is in but I won't touch it until it is about to break the pot. I see a third flower spike coming up on the one picured. I have others with no flowers showing this year yet. I have a yellow I grew from seed that has never flowered. They can be frustrating.

Seabrook, SC(Zone 8b)

O.k., so it's not exactly a bloom, it's a bud. But, it's a PEONY. Which everyone told me would not grow down here. Maybe it will bloom this year (if it doesn't get too hot and a dog doesn't stomp it.)

I thought I'd show you the bud before something happened to it...

Nice photo, What kind of peony is it? ( Hope your dog doesn't stomp it)

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

Alright! Way to go, B&J.
I was surprised to see some at Lowe's this week.
Hope you get a bloom (no dog or heat damage). :)
Looking forward to seeing it.

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

Me too! And Happy Easter Everyone!

Seabrook, SC(Zone 8b)

It's peony Scarlett O'Hara (what a cool name.) It's SUPPOSED to be one of the cultivars that does well in the heat. We'll see.... Thanks!

Ehwee, Look forward to seeing the bloom!!

I LOVE Solomon's Seal. I finally remembered to buy some last year, it's already doubled in # of stalks (I guess that's what you call them.) Plant Delights has some interesting and different Solomon's Seal that I considered but am too cheap to buy.

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

I'd like to try some different ones sometime ( But, I'm cheap when it comes to certain plants too LOL) Though I could really be tempted if I actually seen them somewhere! I had a few Solom Seal's and this year I see there are a bunch of youngsters popping up everywhere! So now, I'm going to have about 10 more!

Iris,
I'm jealous!!! :(( How old is your clematis? I have The President (among others) down here, just turning 3 yrs old. It has buds, but no blooms yet - I can't believe you have blooms already & I don't. Gonna go pout myself to sleep.... :((

Do you do anything special for yours?

Greenville, SC(Zone 7a)

SCNewbie
My clematis is only about 3 years old, ( But, They did bloom last year too) I have 3 "The President", "1 hagley hybrid" and 3 others that I can't think of the name of right now, All, but one, A later blooming one has buds right now. The only thing that I can tell you that I did with them was improved the soil before I planted them and fertilized them in the beginning of Spring. Mulched good by the roots and the tops are in the sun. Hope I helped in some way, Please let me know if you see any buds at all on yours. The 3 "Presidents" are only about 5 or 6ft away from each other, And I have a large tent top on the patio for shade and the clematis are behind it, But the sun still hits them, Except for the one in the middle, It gets sunlight, But, Not as much as the others do, And thats the one that gets the least buds so they seem to need good sunlight to bloom good. Let me know how you make out with yours this year.

I have a Sol's Seal that I got from PDN a few years ago. It has done well and multiplied, but I see no sign of it so far this season for some reason. If yours is already going, Iris, I'm getting worried, now. :)

Beatufiul Columbines and Clematis, all.

DebinSC, I would think your Solomon Seal would be at least showing through the ground by now, Here's a photo of some of the babies that grew on there own, This is just one section, I have others all over in this bed, they are about 4-5" tall allready.

Really beautiful pictures, everyone! I wish I had room the Rosa banksiae in my yard, but she grows into a real monster.

First rose of the season for me, R. mutabilis...

This is a sport of Narcissus 'Pipit' - one of the bulbs has developed a mostly white flower w/yellow streaks. I emailed B&B to ask them if they are interested.

One of the last of the daffodils - Redhill - somewhat like a larger, later version of Barrett Browning

Bulbine frutescens (yellow form) - not completely cold-hardy so it spent the coldest nights in the garage. This pic (like my other recent ones) was taken w/my Canon Powershot ... very convenient as it's the size of a deck of cards and weighs about 6oz ... but it won't pick up really fine detail. If the weather cooperates and I remember I'll try to post some high-res shots w/my good camera that show the cute fuzzy parts of the bulbine flowers.

Tulip 'Gudoshnik' - has been a reliable perennial for 5+ years. It has a nice variety of bloom colors ... from solid red to solid yellow to a blend of yellow/white/pink/orange. Also see the pic I posted a few years ago in PF (same bulbs) http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/104471/ If you want stable, solid colors I also recommend Apeldoorn (original red or 'Golden' yellow) - which have also come back for several years here in Raleigh with no decline.

Here's another shot of the NA native Eastern red columbine (Aquilegia canadensis). These are growing in the front yard near the tulips (broad foliage in lower left is Lycoris squamigera). I didn't intentionally plant them here - they just appeared and spread. A very hardy plant and an early-season favorite of the hummingbirds when they appear for the spring. (I am eagerly looking forward to their arrival :-)

Tom, great pics, love the columbine!!!

You're right about the Lady Banks rose. This is the year mine is intent on monster status!
