I'm a newbie and just realized I planted my seeds too early (tomatos). I planted Feb 10th and our average last frost is the end of May. That's about 3 1/2 months of raising the plants indoors before I can put them outdoors. What will happen to these plants? Should I give up on them now? Will they become rootbound and die? Please tell me what I should do. I would really appreciate your help.
What happens to plants started indoors too early?
You can probably keep them going--you'll need good lighting for them (cheap fluorescent shop lights can work fine, make sure you leave them on 14-16 hrs a day and keep them no more than a couple inches above the tops of the seedlings). And if they do start to outgrow whatever you have them in now, you can always pot them up into something that's a little bigger than whatever you've got them in now.
Thank you so much for your help. It put me at ease that all is not lost. Thanks, again!
