Propagation: Propagation part VII based on my own experience

sounds great Sheryl. I know what you mean about for me. Truth be known most of the hostas were for my enjoyment as much as to sell. I just knew I had to get the money over into my spending descresion. I am hopeing the hostas will allow me to get my project moving in the right dirrection.
My goal is to be able to pay for a vacation and still have enough to carry on next year with a new batch of hostas and some plugs. I also want to get some ferns and flower plugs from nc cuttings. so far its going acording to plan.

Dave, is there a difference from the yucca you refered to in your post, and the ones that grow wild here in Eastern Montana? The ones I have been up close and personal with all seem to have seed pods that rattle. Sounds just like (uhg ugh) rattle snakes ( uhg ugh. ) Can you tell, I HATE snakes. I could collect some seeds for you this winter. Not before tho, snakes are out!!!

There are a lot of different varieties of yucca, but at least the ones you have, Lee, would be cold hardy - just about ANYWHERE, lol.

Is this thread taking a ridiculously long time to load for anyone but me? We do have a rough connection, here....

True, true. They grow everywhere. The flower spikes in spring are an ivory color shaped kinda like a tulip if tulips had more than one flower per spike. Really pretty from afar :-}

Have any of you used the old fondue forks for removing starts from the smaller plug trays. DH is removing formica and sanding our kitchen cabinets (for a major remodel) and I ran into them while cleaning out a junk drawer. They seemed to work really well in the 90 + tray that I have petunias started ( the ones that made it this far). Didn't seem to bother the roots too bad. What do the rest of you use to remove them? I normally use a regular small fork Lee, but I don't have the plugs. They would probably be too wide for them.
