Yarrow

Columbia, MO

I bought some yarrow seeds and it's my understanding they are quite hearty and happy to grow...I'm not concerned with getting them to grow as much as I'm concerned with WHERE to grow them? I thought they'd add some much needed color to our front yard. Of course I know they can be used medicinally...etc...but will they look ok if I were to just sort of set them out as attractive color for the front of our home? I looked up pictures and see that they can become a bit unruly, though I'm willing to tame them when and if necessary...has anyone else used them as aesthetics, though? I'm told they will be around "forever." Will this be a bad endeavor?

Thank you!

I looked yarrow up in plant files. They should look fine. You may need to stake them. Cut off dead flowers if you don't want the seeds falling on the ground and coming up next year.

I know they can spread a lot in some climates so probably do some homework to see how they'd behave in your area. I love mine, they have a really long bloom time and are very pretty. I've never had trouble with them looking unruly, although I keep them on the dryer side so if you water them more then they might grow a bit floppier and not look as nice.
