A coming change to our monetary system

west Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

just now noticing that Tir?

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

LOL...I was gonna match scutler's offer of raccoons with squirrels and raise it by 12 !! Maybe some collar doves instead?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Offers starting to go high now! Hummm, need to check and see what is left. LOL

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

I have a few teenagers I could spare.

North Augusta, ON

I'd love an armadillo!!!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

But not a teenager?

North Augusta, ON

ackkk! NOOOOO!!!!

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

To be clear, my food and water bill has declined DRAMATICALLY since our two much-loved sons (aka eating machines) moved out. I don't want any more teenage boys to move in, I just want 'em to show up every 5-6 days to mow. I'll even toss in some cold water, lemonade or sweet tea if they do ;o)

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Mine are girls and the best they do is to load the dishwasher. They look like me though, which is kind of nice.

Ottawa, ON(Zone 5a)

And here I was, for a moment, wondering how those of us in other countries would possibly be able to participate. LOL

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

LOL!
Dave nicely done!

Willamette Valley, OR(Zone 8a)

Dave, I would like to offer a couple dozen giant Oregon slugs and maybe a few tickets for you and your family to the Eugene Slug Festival. You know, they are considered a delicacy in these parts...

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

ROFL!
Thanks for the laugh, Dave!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

teehee....

I'll barter my first born ^_^ willing to throw in his seven siblings too...but I'm keeping the dog! lol!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Oh Man! I forgot it was April Fools Day! (Guess I need to find coworkers with a little more humor)

I was trying to figure out how I could say with some element of crediblity "HONEY!! Somebody has stolen your new chain saw!!!!" Because that is what I figured was going to have to make a one-way trip to Texas --however Dave, I was determined to get a few years worth of subscription!

Well, it looks like I got a couple people this time!! ^_^ Now I need to start planning for next year. :)

Cannelton, IN(Zone 6b)

I have a yard full of moles to trade. And a few stray cats. And a smashed cactus or two. LOL And, oh, I have a walnut tree but you will have to cut it down.

North Augusta, ON

You'd get rid of your walnut tree????
I've spent my entire life trying to get one to grow...

Central, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh come on... Not real?????
I have a half dozen wild turkeys that I just know would be good for at least one year.....? ;)

I have to give you cudos Dave. That was good.... Had me thinking for a minute.

Cannelton, IN(Zone 6b)

threegardeners, I want to plant a rock garden and have limited space. I don't want my plants to get bombarded in the fall.

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

threegardeners, I have 8 or 10, 5 gallon pails of walnuts I could send. I swear 8000 of them grew last year. Everywhere.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Bernie, you can grow walnuts? Send me a dmail and tell me what kind it is.

Joan - who's hoping this isn't Bernie's April fools joke. :)

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

Joan, you have mail.
For everybody else, these are Black Walnuts, the ones the expensive lumber comes from.
Not an April fool's joke.

Northern Piedmont, NC(Zone 7b)

How about my DH's cat Chester. He really doesn't eat much and just does the sneaky things cats do. I'll tell DH that dear old Chester was well spent.

Look forward to this every year, and Dave never disappoints!

Jean

Desoto, TX(Zone 8a)

Can't believe how gullible I am at this advanced years. Got me but good!!!

Lewisville, MN(Zone 4a)

The real good ones were early on in Dave's life, before everybody would be looking for this thread.
Once he convinced us that he had sold out to Garden Web.
Took a couple days before that was found out to be a joke.

Cochise, AZ(Zone 8b)

So did everybody read Ben's tomato article?

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

April's "new flowers" article was funny too!

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

almost missed this - was gone all day.

Dave, you need a border collie for your herd - I happen to have a couple really nice 3 month old pups. I'd trade for 10 years worth of subscription...

Seale, AL(Zone 8b)

Just gettign here and thought oh jeez. now what could I barter with. Gave my heart a major pumpign rush this mornign Dave. Had me totally fooled. Forgot it was April fools sicne his first joke I heard.

But ya know we laughign at the moment and glad it a joke, but wouldn't be surprised it maybe if things keep goign the way they are that we may just be bartering with ya.

By the way how do like fresh daylily buds and bloosm to eat? LOL

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Hehehe, I've enjoyed this thread, wondering how many would be taken in (or fooled, even!). Yep, got a couple folks, Dave! Good going! It wouldn't be April 1st w/out this yearly treat!

Ahem, now about this barter, I'm sending a boat on wheels, named "The Dave's Garden". This will no doubt ensure that this great entity (DG) will always be on solid ground but yet be able to continue to "sail around the World". And, unlike other boats (or organizations), it will never need to be bailed out!

Ever and onwards, the juggernaut, DG!

Happy Day to All, Folks!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

I won't be fooled next year. This was my virgin year for this dastardly thread!

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

tee hee...last year was my first year...thats when he did the bright pink lolo! definitely got me on that one!

if you havent read the articles for yesterday...you should go read them! the flower one had me fooled for a few minutes lolol!

(Zone 1)

Horseshoe: I love that Boat on Wheels idea! "The Dave's Garden" would be a lovely boat too.

Years ago I saw an old used row boat for sale and I so wanted to buy it, stick it in the front yard and plant it up ... but my dear husband thinks my ideas are pretty nutty and it just didn't sound like a plan to him. I guess if I weren't married I'd probably have a salvage yard of "stuff" re-purposed as planters of some sort! About 30 years ago some friends were remodeling a bathroom and I really, really wanted the old 400 pound bathtub he was throwing out ... yep, wanted to stick it in the yard and use it as a raised bed for a lovely tub of flowers. Never happened though ... the men stuck together on that and it was hauled to the dump.

I googled awhile back and found this photo, I need to show it to my hubby so he can see how pretty a boat load of flowers really is! http://pro.corbis.com/images/CU942770.jpg?size=67&uid=%7BDA9F1E5C-698C-4C62-B5D0-D5BA93E0E46F%7D

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Nice boat and flowers, Lin! If you can't get by with a boat then find an old headboard and footboard of a bed, stick 'em in the ground at the appropriate length and plant flowers where the "mattress" would be, there ya have it, a flower BED!

Shoe (back to potting up entirely too many tomato plants!)
Happy Day, All!

Lyndonville, NY

Darn Dave...I had an 18 year old daughter I was willing to trade/barter for something, its either that or I find a new place til she goes off to college. She even comes with shoes...unlike her Uncle Shoe! hehehe

Debbie

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

well dave,
i have a deaf dog that is funny, cute and bites the hand that feeds him. deal?

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

LOL...when we lived on St. George Island we had to put in a new septic...one that was a raised mound. I put the old toilet on top of it and planted prickly pear cactus in it. :-)))

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Aaaaah!! You totally had me fooled. The economy was on my mind as I was browsing Dave's forum. The headline caught my eye, and I was hooked! It's the 3rd and april fools was far from my thoughts. The first post by broots helped me catch on. Argh! I should've known better! LOL!!

Wheatfield, NY(Zone 6a)

Got me for a second...LOL. I'm on meds. How do feel about brownies, Dave? Maybe a cookie of the month? I do have a plethora of voles this year if you're interested. Otherwise, they seem bound to commit suicide by jumping into my pool and drowning which is really gross.
