2 days ago started a bunch of different seeds in jiffy window seed starters (12 individual peat pellets per plastic tray with dome cover). Last night went to check the moisture and found very fine white hair growing all over the pellets of one tray. This particular tray has half Angel's trumpet seed and half Basil seed. I guess this is probably some kind of fungi or mold, since the moist condition and organic matter are ideal conditions.
-Is this a problem, can seeds germinate and grow with this present?
-What should be done?

Seed staring - fine white hair all over peat pellets?
I called the company I purchased the seeds and jiffy window seed starter's from. They advised conditions were probably too wet (mold), and to open up the cover for a day or 2 to let things dry out a bit.
I also had this in a boiler room location. Thinking it remained a constant warm temperature and would help germination. I didn't think the darkness was a factor since these particular seeds were being covered with soil (under soil being dark, I thought). They suggested moving them to an area with indirect light was needed. I'll move them to where my other jiffy window starter is located (these seeds specifically stated they needed light to germinate)
I'm new to seed starting, made an attempt last spring with tomato seeds and vine peach that made it to plants but never really took off and produced any fruit.
