I have a new house and have just installed my raised veggie beds. Part of my sustainability plan is to install a few fruit trees in the near future. On the north side of the property is a south -sloping hill (maybe 20' wide and 100' long) that is just a hair too steep to mow. It gets full sun and good drainage. I have already used about 20' of it to install raspberry beds. I would like to place a few fruit trees on the hill but I know that it is very important to get the right varieties from the right supplier. I am only interested in dwarf varieties since the hill is so steep and we have no large ladders. Everyone's input would be great.
P.S. The new baby chicks are doing great!
Fruit trees (and suppliers) that do well in NE Ohio, Zone 5?
I have a neighbor who has peaches, plums, cherries, and crabapples that do great up here.
I have ordered most of my fruit trees from Burnt Ridge Nursery out of WA state. They have always sent very healthy, good sized trees. For each tree you click on, they will tell you what types of other trees are good pollinators for it.
