I had a really bad one of the Northern Flicker, but must've deleted it. This one isn't much better...
Awful Pics Vol. 8
That Osprey nest is so cool! I would love to see one.
I rarely see Northern Flickers, so any picture of them is always fun!
In saw Osprey nests for the first time here on top of the Lights on a sports field locally, I sometimes look in wonder when I see them flying around they are a protected species in UK. I never ever saw any there!

They're a protected species in Florida as well! ;-)
But yes, they are fairly rare in Britain, though increasing. In the 19th and early 20th centuries they were hunted to extinction in Britain by fishing estate keepers and egg thieves; they recolonised (from Scandinavia) in about 1950, and have now increased to about 160 breeding pairs.

I can't be postive, but I THINK this might be a Pine Siskin...
Tough call from that pic! Can't rule out Yellow-rumped Warbler there. Any more pics of it?
Resin
nope just the one pic....I'll bet it was a yellow-rumped....that didn't occur to me at the time!
Oh no, add another 'lil so that I can get confused with housefinches, pine siskin, and goldfinch, a yellow-rumped warbler? LOL
That is actually known as a PLB~pretty little bird! Honestly! That is the name for most of the birds that hide out in trees and bushes defying the usual identification! ;-)
They are so much different looking.
The change in them is sooo amazing! I don't have a really good one of the in breeding plumage either.
Well, this Pileated Woodpecker had landed on my tree but before I could get a photo he left and flew waaaayyyy over there..... LOL! I am inside my house mind you shooting thru the silding door. DH thought I was nuts to even try....
Proves you saw it, and gives you something to post HERE! LOL.
Why couldn't he have landed there the day that I was visiting!
I did try my best to arrange something spectacular for you....and gee I could post pics here all day! LOL
Layman's Uncle was up here from Texas last Sunday. They are all really big on nature, wildlife, birds etc. We haven't seen any deer for months...he is getting ready to leave and we are all out in the driveway when 3 deer come strolling thru the woods across the road just in time for us all to see. Timing couldn't have been better!
Oh man, that would have been good!
Resin: I remember some years back, that therre was a nesting pair in Scotland and someone stole the eggs, there was a big hoo-ha in the papers about it at the time. Glad to know they have more over there now. They are frequently seen here flying around, and I don't get sparrows on my front lawn, but small egrets and red crested cranes. These two go strolling past in the morning making a lot of noise.
You will also note that it's a picture fit to be in this forum!
Luvsgrtdanes, that's true, as soon as you think you have them, they flip. The great danes that you love are they 4 legs or 2 ??
It's especially hard when there isn't a lot of light. I think you did good though luvs.
Seemama I guess in my case that would be 12 legs!! LOL
Thanks Pelle, it was extremely cloudy that day.
Luvs gt daens - next time I pass through PA, I must look out for them!!!
Only with a VERY vivid imagination!!! Sometimes auto focus is a bad thing, huh?
Hey that vulture is far too good for this thread!!! ;-)
Odd about the Pileated - with my camera, the autofocus always goes for the most distant item in the field of view. So if I'd taken it, the Pileated would've been in focus.
Resin
And you would have been posting the pix on the worst tree pictures thread? LOL>
Mrs. Ed...LOL!
Oh..I agree that vulure shot is NOT bad enough ...!! :)

Oh me oh my!!! I just saw a flock of Cedar Waxings passing by! I snapped away, so I will have many 'awful pics' coming this evening. This is my 3rd sighting of the beatiful birds. I'm so excited, I'm beside myself!!! LOL.
Congrats on the waxwings. I just went looking for them and didn't see any today.
The Cardinals have been perching in the Lady Banks rose. I cannot get a pic of it though. It's way in the back of the yard. I tried last year too. In fact, I keep trying even though I know it doesn't work! Here the rose is almost finished and is turning brown, but still I'm trying to get the Mrs. in the roses.
Elphaba, the Mrs. Cardinal is looking good there! Sorry the Lady Bank's peak blooms was almost over? Do they rebloom for you? I've got a chance to get close and personal with the climbing roses today at my local nursery, and love them for the fact they're so beautiful and they've hardly any thorns!!!
Okay, here goes my Waxwing but too much bright light in the background:
