Can anyone tell me how to propagate these plants. I want to root some cuttings. Will they root in water?
Thanks for any help you can give.
Propagating New Guinea Impatiens
Yes they will root in water or damp sand. Have you tried any yet?
Yes, I've tried rooting them in water, but they always turn mushy before roots form. I've heard of using sand, but I don't know what kind is being referred. I'd like to try that.
I think you might want to try a rooting soil. It's a lightweight mixture that is good for for starting seeds or cuttings. You can buy it in bags at gardening centers where they sell potting soil.
