Forgive me if this info has already been posed somewhere here on Dave's Garden, but today I found 2 suppliers of the old-fashioned Loop Fencing that was popular back in the 1940's - give or take. They both have pictures on their websites. ...My Granny Murphy had this fence and the matching gate, which I fear has to be custom made, but it brings back such great memories of being at her home in Kentucky. ...Maybe some of you have been looking for it too, so here are your links! Enjoy!

Old Fashioned Single & Double Loop Crimped Wire Fence! :)
I love the gates and even have one but it still needs to find that elusive perfect spot in the garden.
Glenda: That's amazing that you found that fencing. I didn't even know it was still available. There are a lot of old homes around where I live that have it from years ago and it still looks good. Weathered, but still nice. Not bad pricing, either !
I used to live in a house that was built in 1927 there was fencing like that all round the property ( not really big 40x120) The big pain in the neck was the posts what were beautiful with pretty caps, were set in concrete . I love the fence and when its rusty its even better.
Never had a gate but have seen them too.
Great find.
I love it, great score to find the links. I sent an email to find a store that sells them in CA. I don't see them here but in old historical areas. Shipping would be horrendous I imagine to ship it.
I love the gates
Now that's a really beautiful gate, Pirl. I'm glad you're looking for just the right spot for it.
I had a cool one too it was very old and oddly only about 3 feet high, so I have no idea what you would do with it. Somehow, it seemed to have disappeared. Awesome gate though.
I am installing this fence around my new house. american fence is where I got mine and they will build the gate frames for you also.
That's wonderful Girla!! Post some pictures of it when it's all done! I'd love to see it!! :) ....It is a GREAT fence!
We used to have this kind of fence around our house when I was a kid--it has such charm.
Beautiful gate Pirl. It would be gorgeous as part of an arched trellis.
Thanks, Nature Lover. I doubt if I could find an arbor to do justice to the gate.
pirl, I think I found the perfect place for that beautiful gate!! ^_^
I can't imagine the cost of shipping it, Sue. Instead of the gate I did send you the hosta I promised. I bet you'll love it just as much as the gate - ha ha!
Hey, I totally forgot, yippie! OK, I guess I'll get over being gateless.
pirl--do you have any local welding shops? We have one here that makes gates, trellises, and all sorts of other ornamental things. Maybe you have one locally that could come up with a trellis that would look perfect with that gate.
We do have a welding place but they're for duty, not for beauty. We also have far too many other projects in the works right now like a new garden gate, a new replacement obelisk, two vanity tops and just had the kitchen steps done so we'll keep trying to find the ideal spot for it and then tackle the job.
Ohhhh, I understand! Owning your own home is wonderful but there's always something needing to be done!
