Help picking out good container plants for zone 6A

Ellensburg, WA

I've got a bunch of old ceramic and terracotta pots (small to huge) I'd like to put to use. Any thoughts on good patio plants for zone 6A? Easy care a plus. Thanks very much for any thoughts/help.

There are a couple articles on the subject, by myself and other writers. Mostly - are you going to leave them out year-round?

Carrie, you are awesome! That is a great article. Thanks for the link. Because I'm not a subscribing member, I was having trouble with the search engine.

I'm trying to find some ideas that I can keep outside for the big big pots. I may just do annuals. For the smaller pots, I'll bring them inside. I'm leaning toward succulents. Looks like there's a great link in your article to someone with ideas for succulent container gardens.

Thanks again!

The search engine doesn't work if you don't subscribe? (It's not great anyway....) Subscribing IS really a good deal, though and you can turn off the ads. There's a search engine that searches JUST articles, though. (I think I explain it in there.) But if you subscribe, there's an entire container gardening forum! (NB: I don't get a bonus or anything if you subscribe, ha ha ha.)
