when can I start harvesting spinach and how do I go about it?
My spinach are about the size of a large dinner plate now and most of the leaves are roughly the size of your palm (maybe 6 in. dia.)
Can I just take a pair of scissors and cut enough for what I want, will the plants reproduce more leaves if I cut them?
They sure do look good and I'm dying to taste my homegrown spinach!
harvesting spinach?
you can start harvesting spinach practically anytime it has a few leaves. I usually pinch the stems off, or if I have the scissors handy, clip them off at the main stem.
If you take a few leaves from several plants, it's surprising how much spinach you have in the bowl.
Enjoy!
thanks DB
I planted 9 plants about 6 weeks ago and they're huge now but I've never grown it before so wasn't sure.
DW just showed me how to use the digital camera so I'll start posting pics of the garden and beds.
