I was given some hedges and a Rhododendron (dwarf, I think)

My sister in law decided she didn't want the shrubs in her yard and she was going to cut them down. I convinced her to pull them up, roots and all. Here it is the 20th of March and she probably should have waited another month but she didn't. These are grown plants and should be transplanted in the fall....that I can't control.

So, now for the help part. She had one rhododendron bush that is over 10 yrs old....it is about 3-1/2 feet tall and about the same width....could it be a dwarf Rhododendron?? Another question about it.....what type of soil does it like, alkaline or acid.

The other bushes are 4 established hedges.....the kind you can keep small and ball-like or let them grow 5 ft tall.....but the most unique thing about them is they are constantly getting new leaves and the new ones are pale green and almost white.... which makes them look good all the time. I don't know what kind of soil they like either....I've tried to look online but haven't found them yet. My sister in law recently took an electric hedge trimmer to them and butchered them up pretty good.....so how far near the bottom of the hedge can we go to even them out and make them produce new braches and leaves without killing them

I'll try and take a photo of both the hedges and rhododendron and post it on here so you can see them.

Thank you for any suggestions you can give

Rhododendrons like acidic soil. For your hedges, it'll help to see a picture--hard to say for sure what they are without seeing a picture. A lot of people have boxwood hedges like that, but I don't know if there are ones with almost white leaves like you're describing so maybe it's something different.

Here is a photo of what I think they would look like when they were small.....these are Koren Boxwood Hedges but I don't know if the one I was given are Koren....but the leaves look like these.
