Couldn't resist another shot of the Lady Banks rose.

This one was taken from inside the screened room.

Another one of the rose - I was showing off the shawl my clever-clogs sis made for me. I've wanted people to see it for a long time. It's as light as a cloud.

Mike and John discussing the pond. We never tire of the yellow Seep Monkey Flower (Mimulus guttatus). It pops up here and there along the stream, but is never a nuisance.

From the pond looking back at the house. Everyone wandered around.

wc, what do you think I was doing? All I have is a tiny point and shoot. We'll talk.
I am so happy that we finally got to see the Gossamer Shawl. It was really lovely to see.

Looking down the path from the 'upper deck' - the business end of the garden (compost heap, straw bales, veg bed).
The Ceanothus on the left is Concha. Tucked in to the left of it is a red bud, then a Fremontodendron (Flannel Bush). The Salvia on the right has been slept in by some critter and we had to prop it up.

I think Jasmine came out to say good bye to us! She is cute!

Hi Kay! I forgot to point out Sherry's Border (we name everything in our garden) - all the Salvias (except for the madrensis from drdon!) in this border came from our own wcgypsy. I expect them to shoot up as soon as the weather warms up a bit.

Yes, she is. Also, whenever someone comes out of our house, she thinks carrots are forthcoming!

I'm telling you, Roberta, they get THIS big! These are Matilija poppies. We cut them down to a foot each year and by the end of summer they are 6 x 6 again. Beautiful plants.

Thank you Ron, I finally got to see the yard!! LOL Say hi to Kay.

Glad you liked your shawl. It was really fun to make, even if it was a little difficult at times keeping the pattern straight.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Sally you made that gossamer shawl? Beautiful job. I made her go bring it out of hiding because she'd promised to show us at the RU. I'm glad I did. A work of art!

It was surprisingly warm for being so light, too! Just that extra bit one might need.

I have one more photo I'm going to post for everyone - it's a shot of the lot when we first looked at it. We had to stitch several photos together, but you'll get the idea.

I meet with a few friends once a week to knit. They all thought I was nuts to do it. But I love doing the intricate patterns, it gets boring doing scarves all the time. The yarn was wonderful to work with and the pattern came from "Two Old Bags" (honest) so it was my cup of tea.

Eugene, OR

I remember that one. Sure has changed!!!

Kanita and I spent quite a bit of time petting Jasmine and scratching her ears...she did come running over really fast and I thought it was because she was jealous that the horse was getting attention. Ha! Now we know that she was hoping for carrots......I mean, she was really movin'!

Eugene, OR

I would like to have neighbors like that! I'd even grow carrots just for her.

I have seeds! :-)

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

While I'm online, I watch my neighbor's stallion and pony and I love them, but am reluctant to feed them...can they get too many carrots and apples?...lol....

Eugene, OR

I'd ask the neighbor.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

Oh, well, you don't know this neighbor...lol...and I wouldn't feed anyone's animals without asking first, so I resist the temptation to give them a carrot.

Eugene, OR

Oh, too bad, that could be a problem.

Fallbrook, CA(Zone 10b)

She's nice enough and we maintain a good relationship, but she falls into the 'unpredictable dingbat' category and it's best to keep things at a minimal surface level with her.

No. San Diego Co., CA(Zone 10b)

I wouldn't give apples - I think they can cause a tummy ache. Our neighbors told us we can feed carrots any time.
