Cute joke, Jo Ann---& Victor---you couldn't make up that stuff---too weird!

Thomaston, CT

It does look interesting--but I'm wondering about quality of photo---and, of course, I'd never figure out how to use it!

Ooo, I see 'em. That's exciting, can't have too many poppies. That looks like more than two, are there more since yesterday? I grabbed some seeds off my rosa rugosas and straw flowers last year, and they're actually starting to show some life. The feverfew is growing like, well, weeds, and cleome looks like there may be hope. The Custard and Cream four o'clocks from a packet are doing very well, but the Lemon and Lime four o'clock seeds that I took off my plant from last year aren't doing squat. I still have some really crazy Morning Glory seeds to start, but I'm thinking in another three weeks or so. They get leggy real fast, and I just don't have the room to placate them.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I am sorry... I meant two kinds of poppies... was so excited I guess I was not clear.... the first one is summer fruits and the second is oh la la

I usually grow straw flowers... this year I had to pass on them with all the cuttings.. I might still throw some out in a container... they self seeded in my garden last year... looked better than the ones I grew inside

my lime four o'clocks were duds last year... they started off great... and then did nothing most of the summer... if I remember right I think they burned... and I have full sun almost no where

Drum roll Please. The Pecan tree is putting out its leaves. Spring is here. Of course down here it will be summer next week. LOL Hope spring will be going full steam up there soon.

Awwwww onewish they are so cute with their little seed hats ^_^ I bought more oo la la seeds too just in case they don't self sow from last year. Dear Wren, you are having SUMMER now. ge1836 um my garden still looks like that SERIOUSLY. I went to pick up my begonia tubers last night and they had no screamin' orange :( :( I settled for solid scarlet red ones and frilly white ones with scarlet red tips. Sigh they probably won't do well as I'm already not liking them because they aren't screamin' orange.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Calm down now and realize you might like the new one.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Dear Dahlia sometimes the screaming orange screams to loud.

It is not quit summer here yet but it is getting close. Just hope it is not as hot as last year. If it is I may come visit all you northers. LOL

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Come visit any time the dear Wren. We will have great adventures ^_^ I know all; I'm just a tad disappointed. I think I will put the new ones somewhere completely different so they don't feel they have to live up to the standards of the screamin orange ones.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I am having problems with a screaming yellow! But so much blue and red and purple in my butterfly and humming bird bed so I added some yellow and one the strawflower is screaming loudly
This picture does not show its true color.

That does say YELLOW quite loudly, doesn't it? Yellow is very cheerful.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

yes but it really jumps out of all the other colors. But I like it.

Very pretty, I like pink...got a name for that one?
I have one about to bust...a dark red named 'Grand Cru'.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

NO! When a certain dog was a puppy, he stole my new bags of ammies and tore the bags up and scattered the bulbs all over the yard, luck only one had teeth marks on it.

This one is one we have had over 40 years.

Don't know what thread we were talking about peepers in but after going out for a fish fry tonight we drove to the park and the peepers were out!! So cool.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh I love to listen to frogs singing.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

HELP WHA! Arnold the Artichoke didn't sprout; he erupted out of his 2" pot like a volcano. Should I put him in a bigger pot NOW? Should I put the others in bigger pots too now or wait til they erupt? OMG this is like Jack and the Beanstalk.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

PICTURES!!!!! As artichokes do not do good down here I can not help. LOL

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I have no idea what I'm doing Wren. This is the first time I've grown them. My RM buddy in Ennis MT grows them in her hoop house but she buys plants. This is Arnold emerging. Notice the big clump of mix to the right. He moved that!

For all of you that have growth and blooms at this time of year - gosh I am so happy for you as well as envious....I still have snow so that means I have no new growth or anything to really share with any of you. I wish I did. However I do love seeing your photo's!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

dnut - no idea they do grow - the new ones from seed have not sprouted yet - looks like you are doing good - if you think it needs a new home go for it - i am not an expert just hoping my few from last year come up
