Bring that cup of coffee, cocoa or tea and share your spring plans.
Coffee Break # 7 Spring is in the air!!
Thanks, Celeste. Last year's pic, I'm guessing?
I've been busy, busy, busy. Fired up the greenhouse and seeded another 9 trays of luvlies including tomatos, green peppers, basils and artichokes and potted, potted, potted up dahlias. Moved the babies from the indoor growop to the greenhouse and they are settling in nicely. It's FINALLY springish outside ^_^ I need to take some pics.
Cool!
I was going to hang the hummer feeder but I thought that might be a bit much (tee hee)
ALL MINE. Just kiddin. Some are for friends who don't have space to start them and for seniors, and I have posted the extra tubers in the Calgary Horticultural Society forum and POOF they will have new homes pronto. I luv the annual 'Gifting of the Tubers'. It's one of my fav parts of the 'Wakening of the Dahlias Festival'.
dnut i cleaned up around the artichokes i had and "had" may be the appropriate word. no sign of them making it through the winter - will start some seeds tonight just in case
ohhhh noooo wha. Do you think it was too cold or rot from snow? Maybe too early yet? Are your asparagus up?
Yes Victor, last year.....don't rub it in!! lol
Hee hee - your day will come!
asparagus is not up - it may be to early
I can't see the ground yet really...here and there under a tree on the south side of the house I see 2x4 patch of earth!
Tried to dig out clumps of pennisetum grasses---ground is still frozen, hoping it will thaw by week's end. Pulled out most of the landscaping cloth, as the dogs had dug & chewed up a lot of it. My son said to mulch heavily--I'm listening, but if there are too many weeds, he's pulling.
I want this sheriff!

Ha, poor bored people. I just got done watching the movie "Greenfingers", about English prison inmates who won major gardening awards. Maybe they just need more petunias in their lives!
Lots of post to catch up on...
I got that copper birdbath from a home decor place...'tender heart treasures'
Rcvd new T & M catalog anyone else??? Finally a fragrant begonia!!! Has anyone grown begonias from seed??

Victor, Is that why your still on the "inside"?
Yes - waiting for the right warden.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I did Dragon wing one year. They did well. I had seed left over and they haven't germinated so I'm guessing age is a problem - use only freshly purchased seed. They were three years old.
UGH
I made Pistachio pudding for DH & DS in honor of St. Patty's Day. I don't eat it....but I make it.
Me too yesterday the picotee one popped thru the dirt. I planted the solid red & white ones before the picotee but they haven't come up yet.
Congrats, Allison.
these are the ones I am going to try and take cuttings from... they are pooped out
Oh, Victor! That was really BAAAAAAD!
Louise, I'll just go down to your little farm and put up a sign for the hummers saying that the restaurant is open at my house! LOL!
Hee hee - I know. Being part Irish, I feel entitled!
You are always entitled, I'd say, simply because you are Irish. Ever notice how we can get away with almost anything?
O-yes.
^_^
ooooo luvly onewish. I'm picking up my begonia tubers at Costco on Thurs. I'm hoping they have the same orange ones they did last year. I luv orange begonias in the shade. They really POP.
yes me too... and I mixed them with yellow mimulus last year
Too dry in my garden for mimulus sigh :(
Uh oh - mimulus rhymes with stimulus...
snort
