How cold is too cold at night for direct sowing seeds

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

I'm in zone 6A in Kansas. Our nights are still in the 40's. Since this is my first gardening attempt, what should the nightly temperature be before I sow seeds such as morning glories, zinnias, marigolds etc. Our days are ranging in the 60's to mid 70's.

Allen Park, MI(Zone 6a)

It depends on what you want to sow.

Crops like lettuce, peas etc like cold weather.

On the other hand corn, squash prefer warmer temps.

Read the instructions on the package for more information

I don't plant my annuals like yours untill the middle of April. I'm in Z6 Most annuals like night temps in at least the 50,s with no chance of frost. Some people like to take a chance and plant earlier but i think they grow faster and and safer later than earlier.
