A red-whiskered bulbul is now coming frequently to cool itself. Summer heat. So I make it a point to see the shallow water level is maintained. Evaporation rate is high nowadays.
Daily Pics Vol 192
Water is a good idea, especially during dry periods.
Cool shot Dinu!
Rose 1656, congrats on the BB!
Still not much going on here. Maybe after the storms and rains in the south pass the birds will start to move. But all the locals do seem to be pairing up and getting twitter patted (from Bambi movie...)
My Song Sparrow has been coming everyday this past week...that really has surprised me!

Great pic Rose!!! Very pretty Bluebird!
Dinu, Love the bulbul!
GP, Nice Red-bellied Woodpecker!
Nanny, Nice pics; love the Grackle!
Hi WC, I've noticed their quite creatures of habit. Nice pic!
Hi Pelle! thanks, I think he/she is one of the ones I rescued last year when their nest fell down. He's always hanging around even though I don't put out berries. I would give the mother waxworms from the pet shop to save her a trip now and then when they were little.
Luckily he doesnt bother the other birds.
- I got a feeling I'm going to have another MockB nest this summer in my yard... ☺
Nanny you may have a good sparrow nesting sight, so it will stick around.
Nice pics GG!
Very nice Rose!!
Great pictures, everyone. Love the feather action on that titmouse, 2CD.
I've had a couple of Red-bellied Woodpeckers eating from my hanging platform feeder but lately they have begun eating from this jar feeder that has the little chick feeder base on it. They really have to do some amusing acrobatics to get to the seed.
They are great acrobats aren't they cb!
Wonderful pics everyone!
Dave,
My Pentax isn't doing as good of a job as your Canon! I love your little Titmouse in the rain. Can't imagine any detail that wasn't captured in that shot.
"been out at the creek again" – Red-winged Blackbird
"from the canoe" and "some type of heron" – both Tricolored Herons
"gorgeous day and many birds" – Brown Pelican (immature)
"we were out for 3 hours" – Snowy Egret
"not sure if this is a Cooper's Hawk", "this sharpie" – think they're both Sharp-shinned, but not 100% sure on the first
