Gee, you all have been at it again...way to many great pics to comment on!!

How I broke my toe...we have this handy dandy pole similar to a short shower curtain rod that we put in the sliding door for security right. When not in use it is laying there on floor right in front of the door..sometimes with the one end still in the door jam. I come in thru the door took off my shoes as they were muddy and proceeded to go in and OW!!! hit that baby dead on REAL HARD with my toe!!!! = Broken Toe... LOTS of really bad words followed. LOL

Not a great variety comign to the yard right now...and all the grackles don't help. But got several cardinal shots while I was outside yesterday afternoon.

Yes, "Mrs. Loves Great Danes," I think you're right. My DH would probably agree. LOL

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

The photos are great everyone. I got a kick out of the pheasants with the kitty from Wallaby. Love the Cardinals too! Dellrose, that sweet Junco looks so happy and warm all fluffed up. I think it's so cute when the Doves stay so close to each other.

Handsome one tiger!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

You guys are running wild with your posting!!! Took me a good while to catch up. Amazing photos on this and last thread.
Gary, i agree with Resin, for the streaking on the flank, a bit to pronounced on your Redpoll. The white Rump is a sure mark of one, sometime they will have a tinge of rose showing there as well.
Here's one in flight coming in to the plate. note the amount of streaking on the flank, and the under tail. so much whiter.

Showing the rump with a bit of rose.

Thanks burn.
Ive got lots of Common Redpolls, with nothing else to photograph I've taken a lot of pictures of them, in the last two days.

This is a female all puffed up against the cold. She is one of the more tan colored birds.

A male Common Redpoll with a deep pink breast.

This male has less brown streaking on the breast, than the ones above..

More white and less pink on this males breast.

Finally a female with a nearly white breast, except for the streaking. There is considerable color variation from one individual to the next.

Great pics Gary!

Oquawka, IL(Zone 5a)

Look what I found in the neighbor's yard! The male wouldn't stay around long enough to get a picture of him. If I can't attract them to our yard, I'll just go down to the neighbor's to enjoy them!
