Had a flurry of activity today....I think some Buntings on the way North made a stopover for some refreshments. Indigo male still changing color.
Buntings
Nice shots GP! I love that last one!
Thanks Pelletory. My birding season is almost over. Soon it will be regular birds like Grackles, Jays and Cards. At least I can look forward to an occasional Bald Eagle.
I can't wait for the Buntings to show up here! The last picture is beautiful. Really shows off his colors.
I am anxiously awaiting also and have their favorite finch food and caged feeder ready for them. Nice pics GP...I agree that last one is just awesome!
I'm sure they will appreciate the finch food when they get there. Thanks, Rose and Rose.
Rose and Rose, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but GP has sent all her Painted Buntings to me. I'm expecting the package any old day now. I wish.
GP, your Bunting pics are so good. They are beautiful birds. Once, my MIL in Kentucky had a male Bunting show up in her garden. I still have the photo of it, though it's not as beautiful in detail as yours. I like that feeder too.
they are such a beautiful bird. They vist me for about a week in may and then they are gone. i wish i knew how to lure them to stay.
Beautiful pic!
Very nice!
Gorgeous, GP.
Wonderful pics of the Buntings GP. Would love to see them in my yard.
Beautiful pictures. A friend of mine in the area (Louisiana) saw three Indigo Buntings at his bird feeders. I've never seen one before down here, but they certainly are beautiful.
Beautiful pics GP!
Thank you Pelletory....I'm surprised, but glad these guys are still around.
Well, all y'all (an important southern phrase to further emphasize the pluralness of you all) are much luckier than I am. If I get any, I get one or two and they show up for a day or two in April. Still, love 'em! Thanks for the fab pictures GP. I'm hoping to see one in the next month.
I like that Yellowhammer!
I have never even heard of those two....my gosh there are SO many kinds of Buntings....all adorable.
That is a beautiful Painted Bunting!
Thanks. He looks like to me he has his first year of adult colors.
So beautiful, GP
Thanks, Margaret.
