Has anyone used Milky Spore to control grubs in a vegetable garden? I am curious to hear of your experience with it and your opinion of it's effectiveness.
Milky Spore
It is effective on japanese beetles, take a couple of years and has to be applied over a large general area. Most effective on lawns.
I went to my local greenhouse to buy enough milky spore for an acre lot and they talked me out of it. They said that because neighbors (a county park and a county maintained out lot) weren't treating or doing anything to keep japanese beetles, tent caterpillars, or gypsy moths at bay ... well treating my lawn for the grubs for several years would only mildly reduce the damage. They are recommending a pre-emergent produced by The Bayer Co. I haven't purchased it yet, but we still have snow on the ground.
