it finally bloomed

The little stick of solandra maxima or cup of gold vine, that I got from that round up zuzu finally bloomed. Its taken forever. For being invasive its sure taking a long time to grow up. I have it in a pot to keep it bounds though, so maybe that is why its slow.

How exciting! That's really pretty, Steph, and worth the wait.

Oh Steph, I have been waiting for mine to bloom for 3 years. In November I had tons of small buds. I moved the plant to my porch for winter after cutting it back but left lots of buds. All fell off slowly over winter. I was down to 1 and it was swelling. My husband was even watching it, knowing how much I wanted to see it bloom. Just before it opened, the bloom disappeared. So sad was I! LOL

I also have a variegated one from which I started tons of cuttings when I cut that back in fall. It roots so easily. I am trying to keep them both in pots and more of a bush than a vine. I have no clue what the variegated plant bloom looks like.

Your bloom is so pretty! I am so happy I get to see yours!

gosh those are pretty. I wonder why you lost all your blooms. I see them blooming like crazy on the coast. Are you just getting to cold. I really have been fertilizing like mad. Last year when I did organics things really didnt produce as much. this year I am back to my combo, of organics and chemical fertilizers.
