March III Blooms
save me a frosty diamond leaf please
JIM
I love marna........just got a leaf recently.
Brenda.........your Bristol's Blue Water certainly has more blooms than mine does but I love her so much!
Still looking for the baby I promised someone......can't find her but I know she is here somewhere........
Yesterday our temps were in the 80's and last night it dropped to 50 and tonight it is dropping to 41.......poor plants on the porch.........the heaters are going but the real feel is supposed to be in the low 30's. I simply cannot believe your cold, Brenda......
Jim, I have a leaf down of Frosty Diamond and I just got a new plant from Veemee........she will have to grow but at last we have another one........
cool Gail,thanks
JIM
Jim, no I didnt get this from you. I recently bought it, But Franken Strawbeery Fondont came from you. I am totally thrilled with it!!
If you were asking me to save a leaf from Frosty Diamond, I most certainly will. Actually, I may have a start by the time your weather warms up.
Jan, thanks for the comparison photo of marna. I dont believe my bloom is she. The shape of the lower is very different, as are the upper throat markings.
I will find it eventually.
Oooh, these beautiful Strep bloom photo's are killing me! They are all so gorgeous, and it looks like a lot of y'all are growing them now! I think a survey is in order ... like how many of each plant does everyone have in their collection:
African Violets: 1 (Half Dead, can't remember the name!)
Chirita's: 8+ (will have to make a list of names)
Episcia: 0
Kohleria: 0
Sinningia: 0
Streptocarpus: 0
Other Gessie's: 0
Just joking about the survey, but I always wonder how many of each plant people have. I wish I could learn some patience from all of you. Your plants are really spectacular!
Wow, Brenda, it's still so cold where you live! I can't imagine below zero temp's this time of year! I thought it had been warming up everywhere but this morning's paper showed pictures of somewhere in Nebraska where it's still been snowing! I think it said they had 13 1/2 inches or more! Our temp's have been glorious this week, right around 80º every day and high 50's - low 60's at night. The humidity has been low so it's been perfect weather for working outside, which is what I've been doing every day this week! My ole' bones are feeling it too! I have accomplished a lot, mowed and fertilized the front yard and cut back a lot of plants that were damaged by the freeze! I also cut back some humongous asparagus ferns that I hate! They are pretty but so thorny and invasive down here. I will be back out there tomorrow too!
Not such a bad idea, Lin, but I have trays of unnamed streps. As forrest Gump said, it's like a box of choclates-never know what you will get
^_^ and, Gessie's seem to be just as addictive as chocolate too!
they are very very addictive, anyway send your pictures, maybe we can get a few identified,
JIM
