My poor Aloe Vera has started flopping. Is there anything I can do to stengthen it up by its self or stop it from flopping? It sits on a North facing windowsil - I don't have the option to move it unfortunately.
Thank you.
Floppy Aloe Vera
How often are you watering it?
When it's dry.
And how are you judging when it's dry...are you looking at the surface, or are you sticking your finger down in the pot to test how dry it is a little ways down in the pot? Aloes are succulents and therefore easy to overwater, so if you're just looking at when the surface is dry to tell when to water then you could easily be overwatering it. It might help too if you could post a picture so we could see what the floppiness looks like, that could help determine if it's a watering issue vs a light issue, etc.
I do think it's more than likely been overwatered. I'll post a photo next time I am on at home and not work.
Assuming it's been overwatered will it rectify its self in due time?
If this was a one time thing where you gave it a little too much then you can usually let it dry out and it'll be fine, but if it's been getting too much water fairly consistently then there's probably some root rot going on I'd probably repot it in some clean soil and trim out any roots that are looking brown/mushy.
I think it is probably a one time thing; since I watered it last week or maybe the week before but I repotted it at the weekend and watered it into the new pot again - so hopefully just a one time thing :).
Needs more light is my guess. LOTS more.
I don't have the option to move it unfortunately.
