At least I am in good company then!

Always Trisha!!

I am looking for some small gnomes to see if I can copy them in clay....
We talked to Bill's sister tonight.....looks like our brother in law will be in
ICU for at least another week or two....she is really having a hard time being there with Peter by herself and so we are working on a schedule to try have someone with her as much as possible. I figured I can make up a travel box of my clay stuff and work on small things there as easily as I can here.....we will see what I come up with..........

Eugene, OR

Sounds like a plan. I have a little one, I'll try to remember to take a picture of it tomorrow. It's kind of basic, but could give you an idea. You working on clay could be a good break for them too. Our family did that when my DB died, didn't leave the folks alone for a while.

You should hear my cats right now, they slept all day because I was outside, now it's play time. The chase is on!!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Cats are such entertaining little fur people aren't they??
The dog does not allow the cat to play that much, so she really enjoys it when the dog is asleep, or outside on an outing.....they are both funny critters!!

Trisha - I love the stump idea. They're out there - it's just about finding someone with the equipment to get one. You can use a large log round, as well. It's not so jagged on top, but still gives you that wood element to decorate and plant around. You can add an iron stake with hangers to create something for a vine to run up.

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

That goat and horse story was a hoot. I'm LOL. I love horses, they are such neat people.

Eugene, OR

Trisha....now I'm watching for a tree being cut down! LOL

Here's my little gnomes, new enough they don't have names yet.

LOL! Ginger, I think you have the most livestock friendly house I have ever seen!

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

Yes.. we had words over bringing horses in the house. It's an old manufacture home who's floor I don't trust to hold horses....

Sages 8th Birthday is on Wednesday....we are getting her started....one of the things Laura and I bought for her is a Fairy Garden Kit and a set of Polymer Clay to make her own accessories to go with it.....I am thinking about going back and getting a kit for myself!!

What are your favorite plants for Tiny Tiny Gardens (12-24" across) ??

Can't believe the nice weather right now...too bad it isn't going to last....I am soooo ready for summer to get here!!

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Hey, Trisha. Would you mind starting a separate thread on that? If there's a separate thread with its own title, you'll probably get participation from around the country. People will see it on the recently posted threads and click in.

Also, isn't there a new forum on miniature gardens? You might get some good feedback there. I know 1Anjl just posted some pictures of hers. (But don't abandon us; I don't have time for that, but I'm looking foward to seeing what you are doing).
Kathy

Thanks Kathy, hadn't thought of that.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Wow, that is cool......would take up my entire yard......gives you and idea what we have to work with........

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

My best creative ideas are what happens when I try to mimic other people's creations. I'm not that good a mimic, so it always ends up being something of my own. :-)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

That sounds familiar!!!

Eugene, OR

OMG....a whole forum on little gardens. I can't even look there, no time. LOL I peeked, they are really neat!!

That's pretty cute! What do they use for weeding? Little toothpick hoes? Tweezers? How do they reach the middle without -[p00000000000000009999999999999999999999999999 (sorry, Admiral jumped on the keyboard) --- squashing the edges?

I put my old David Austin houses in the garden last year and left them out over the winter. They lost a little paint so now they look more authentic!

So cute! and I love the Fairy Door!!!!

Eugene, OR

Very nice Willow!

(Sharon)SouthPrairie, WA(Zone 7a)

Rachel and Willow, I thought of both of you yesterday while browsing the garden stuff at Freddies. There was a gnome sound asleep in a hammock that just about tempted me to add him to my garden. I just might yet, though I didn't price him out. I had just dropped about $100 on petunias, fuschias, geraniums, etc. at Watson's so was pretty much out of the spending mood. If I do give in, I will share a pic.

(Sharon)SouthPrairie, WA(Zone 7a)

OMG, I looked at this picture I had taken through the kitchen window of my Blaney's Blue rhodie, in the evening, to try to get the color better, and look who visited my evening garden! Can you see the dancing fairy in the lower right hand corner? I have no idea where she came from, but how wonderful to have her visit!

Sweet, that must be the purple rhody fairy.

Or some other kind of spirit that likes you . . . I had a friend who used to get these on her pictures frequently. We never did figure out who it was.

North Lakewood, WA(Zone 8b)

Spirit Orbs, we find them frequently in photos taken around here. I like to think they approve of the way I care for the old farm here.

Eugene, OR

That's a nice thought.

Bend, OR(Zone 5a)

I finally got one.

For Mother's Day my daughter brought me a garden ornament. 3 large forgs doing the see no evil thing.

DH made me an arbor

Ginger, Got pics? :) Sounds like you were treated well for Mother's Day!

(Sharon)SouthPrairie, WA(Zone 7a)

Ginger, I just saw those froggies at Freddy's yesterday and thought they were wonderful. Looking forward to seeing a pic of them when you get them placed.
