Texas Bermuda...preparing for the warmth and "Green"

San Antonio, TX

San Antonio TX... small front yard with Bermuda, faces the sun. I know Bermuda is dormant in the colder months, hence it is ALL brown now. But as it begins to warm above 80 daily here in a few weeks, it will begin to turn green... and with that will also come the weeds and typically they will sprout first of course! I treat for them though with a spray and it works very well for me.

Right now the grass is all brown and appears dead due to dormancy...and the leaves of the trees are ALL over the yard and down INTO the grass.

My questions are: 1. Do I need to rake all of those dead leaves up and out of the grass in prep for the watering and treating?
2. At what point should I start watering the grass? Before it begins to turn green? At first sight of weeds? Or right when I see the bermuda start to turn green? 3. Should I treat the grass with anything? I use a Bayer spray on multi weed killer for Bermuda and it always works pretty well for me during the summer months. But I've never "treated" it with anything.

Yes, I have a sprinkler system

Thank you!

I don't rake our leaves--I just set the Zero Turn down to a low setting and mow. It neatens up all the weeds and makes mulch out of the leaves which will feed the grass. Are y'all real dry over there? I don't ever water our Bermuda--can't really since we have over 5 acres and our Bermuda does just fine. In fact, when it gets real hot and dry in the middle of summer, it's the greenest thing in the lawn.
