Bush Cucumbers

Ponchatoula, LA(Zone 9b)

I have been a grower of regular cucumber for a little while. This year burpee had bush cucumber seeds so I decided to try them.. Anyone have any luck or information on these. The seeds sprouted with 100% germination and are just now developing true leaves.

I will definitely be watching this thread as I am trying the bush cucumbers this year. Did you sow them direct or start them inside? Anything special that you did when you planted them? Overnight soak, etc? Thanks.

I started them inside in jiffy pellets and I am now hardening them off.

I did them last year outside they did very well.

Last year I was lazy and failed to get a bed ready so I grew a small garden in containers. I grew two kinds of bush cucumbers and both did ok.

Regarding germination method: I started them outside. I put them in a pot of soil and watered them. Easy.

I put in two hills of bush cucumber about 1 1/2 weeks ago and two of the plants from one hill have started to come up. Still waiting on the other hill, but I think they are coming.
