Live in zone 6a. looking for suggestions on what to plant along the north side of my house which is predominatly shade. Ideally would like flowering bushes.
I also have an area on the west side that stays in the shade until mid to late afternoon, then it receives full summer sun. Looking for ideas for bushes that grow no more than 3 to 4 feet tall, flowers and a plus would be if they were fragrant.
Thanks
Flowers for partial sun to shade
I cheated and put some tall phlox under my NE facing BR windows. It isn't as good looking as the ones in full sun, but it perfumes the MBR nicely! As this is a damper area in my dry yard, the hydrangea looks great.
I love astilbe, I'm trying to get enough shade over here to plant some (I have all sun all day, but I'm working on getting shade!) and I just saw a hosta that's white called white feather, that looked really cool. It gets lavender flowers when it blooms.
